Introduction

Hi,
Been lurking around these forums for a while and felt I should introduce myself. I picked up an '86 944 N/A about 7 months ago with 48,xxx miles. Its all stock. Didn't get a chance to do much with the car since I put it away for winter soon after i got it.
So far, I've changed the brake lines and put new tires on. Planning on changing the timing belt this spring (was changed 3000 miles ago by PO, but that was 4 years ago) and update the radio.
Also, the rear license place was relocated to the rear bumper (light panel installed by original owner between the tail lights) and I'm looking for ways to illuminate the plate, as it is required by law.
Thanks

If you haven't already seen it, take a look over the clarks-garage site, lots of helpful info there
as well as the brain trust here

Welcome, I too have the rear center reflector light thingy. I gave up on trying to eliminate the plate and luckly have never had a problem. I bet a modified licens plate cover the kind dealers put on new cars would work. Perhaps a thin led neon bar used in r/c underbody kits would work on the top of the plate. Or just relocate it back to stock

I have seen many of the lighted license frames on eBay (and that can be pronounced as Evilbay also - ha ha)

Welcome to the Pelican nest here

Thanks for the welcome
I've come across the neon and the lighted ricer plate frames, and i'm not to keen on going that route. Looking for a subtle black frame with maybe two led's in the frame.

WELCOM TO THE FORUM. You might check out Pep Boys for a light bar that attachés to the top of the license plate. The other option is the Ricer frame and paint it black.

Cheers,
Larry

The heat wasn't working when i got my car either. It turned out to be the fuse.
