Installed hoodpins to rectify damaged latch mechanism. (car was hit hard at some point so aside from the latch not working adjusting the hood to match body lines was impossible with stock latch.) Installed my upgraded headlight harness worked like a charm, until one of the headlight motor wires grounded out and nearly cooked my switch. Still some wiring left to sort out. Finished filling the cracks in dash and got one coat of Bedliner on, after a second coat I'm thinking a satin graphite or black to colour math interior and reduce glare.(we all can't afford reupholstery and I'm not sure I can remember do a dash. Seats are hard enough. And finally started putting the interior back together 2 years later. It's been a busy couple days.

Not enough time in the day

Hey 911 tracker ... no syndrome here Thank u for remembering me
The 3.3 rebuild will be fun just think of your rebuilding a very expensive VW bug , and the build wont get into your head .

weekend project

Changed the rear pads (front are on their way). Changed the sensor wear pads. Changed the transaxle fluid (was a bit of a pain).
grounded out the Japanese EX light sensor at the back of the Cat, finally getting rid of my annoying EX light flashing constantly on the dash.

put the top back in power mode on the blue car. now it's just a new hood light switch and a detailing and she's off to the showroom.

the white car is getting new tires today, and then she gets parked until there is room in the mechanic's schedule for belts.

adjusted the top a bit. when i put it back in power mode, i wasn't really happy with the way it sat. better now.

detailed the interior.

removed all of my personal items and reinstalled the spare, tool kit, compressor, owner's manual, yada yada.

going down in a minute to detail the engine and engine bay

tomorrow i'll get her up in the air and polish out the insides of the wheels and clean and detail the undercarraige and suspension.

then, she's off to the paint detailer and then to the showroom

put carbon fiber look wrap on my sunroof. looks pretty good. my sunroof paint was faded and had a lot of spider cracks from age in the sun.

next hood, vented header panel, and headlight covers. need to take a pic.

Decided to work on my odometer problem.

Found the issue - cracked one the housing stems

Pondered WTF am I going to do to fix this. I know I need to make it stiff and just epoxy would not last.

First I pre-drilled some 5/64" post holes.

Grabbed a wire coat hanger and cut and bent to shape 2 pieces and scraped off the paint and set in place.

Mixed my epoxy and very carefully applied and made sure not to get it on the gears.

Went for a test drive and so far so good, hope it holds. Repair took about 1.5 hours with dash removal and reinstall.

I changed the timing chain tensioner pads on my 89-S2 and painted the cam cover. The tensioner pads only took 15minutes but stripping the cam cover, prep and paint took 3 hours.

replaced the seized AC compressor in the 944S. ahhhh.... cold AC again.

next up, replace the lower control arm ball joints and bushings on the 951, and also finish the AC for it too.

Actually I have PLENTY to do! New front and rear shocks, new motor mounts, replace oil cooler gasket, detail the wheels, new outside door/window scrapers, new Pass window switch, - I will get to al that, however, I have another problem that I cannot figure out: I cannot get the engine to stop even turning the key all the way left and removing it! The car runs and drives normally, just won't turn off!!! Did replace key switch (nope), different keyway and key (nope), tested the connector coming out of the switch and got 2 grounds and two hots...Anybody have ANY suggestions?

putting it back together

In my 951 resto project, the latest is reinstalled the rebuilt turbo, all exhaust system seals and hangers after removing it for AFR bung welding, O2 sensor and Innovate MVT-L Air Fuel Ratio (AFR) system, mounted that and the boost gauge on the A pillar.

Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.
