The one thing I forgot to point out...these are bar and plate cores, which are much heavier than tube and fin cores. Tube and fin cores are typically used on EOM applications but they are much lighter because there is less metal in them compared to a bar and plate core.

The bar and plate cores are a more effective heat sink when the vehicle speeds are low...meaning the coolers remove a lot of heat initially with little to no airflow over them...then vehicle speed comes up and the air really starts moving along through the core. Additionally these are bump-turbulator cores...the charge air is run through the cores and is forced to tumble over the turbulators giving up its heat. It may seem counter intuitive, but the ideal intercooler effectively slows down the airflow through the core so the air has ample time to snuggle up to the aluminum and exchange its heat.

I'm very anxious to see how this system is going to perform. There are some new concepts on this build, like the twin intercoolers with one turbo. Some OEMs have also done this. The charge air on this car is carefully split out to either side with a 2:1 header collector running backwards. The plumbing is pretty trick, but also quite simple. Each side after the split has roughly the same amount of bend. This is to get a 50/50 split on mass airflow through each core.

When this is done, I will entertain selling the topside bits and charge coolers if people are interested in making up their own system.

Lizard...how many cars out there have a yellow and red engine paint theme?

The manufacturer would not give me a map on the charger, but all indications say it will support around 700-750 HP. I really wish I could put a set of 60 lb injectors into this car as the compression has been lowered, but it won't handle that much fuel off idle.

More plumbing coming very soon!

I don't have the money to be replacing all of the $hit we would break in the drive line either...

John, I have 60# injectors that I will be running with my setup, and I will be able to get a good idle with them running the standalone EFI.

This car already has EFI and it will work quite well without any hacking up of the factory wiring, etc. The earlier cars can't be made to do exactly what the S4 and up cars can, but it will still run just fine. I doubt you would see that much difference on an S4 or newer car with a full stand alone system as compared to one with the Shark Tuner PEMs installed with optimised software.

There comes a point where you have to draw the line. Thease are bolt ons we are talking about, not unlimited budget builds.

The roughed in plumbing. There is a bit more TIG work to be done but the pipes are basically shaped into position. It should lay in the chassis quite nicely.

The rest of the BS aside - this pisses me off since it looks like your memory is a bit fuzzy.

Remember when your brother was sending me insulting e-mail’s accusing me of fully doctoring the dyno charts for my car? I’m sure you do.
Remember when you brother accused Tim Murphy of fully doctoring his dyno charts to mis-lead and rip off customers? I’m sure you do.
Remember when I called you out since some very specific information Mark had could have only come from you (about my setup)? I’m sure you do.
Also remember the e-mail address he used to contact me could have only been provided by you? See a pattern here?

Back when this all happened, you and I had quite an exchange and I felt it ended on a very high note. I accepted Mark’s apology and we went on our marry way.

Then “this” happened. Sorry John, going on past history you are guilty by association. I told you very specifically if this type of thing every happened again it would be taken as if you yourself were making the posts.
Not only did your brother choose to attack Tim Murphy in public, unprovoked, he dragged Tampa down with him!! What the hell did he ever do to Mark?
The icing on the cake is the insulting PM Mark sent out to a certain party who was not even involved in the thread. What was that all about?

You seam to think only a couple of us associate you two together. You should see all the PM’s and e-mails I received (some from people I don’t really know) making comments like “Looks like the Kuhn brothers are at it again….” After Mark started posting on Reutterwerk.

As for people not saying hi to you in public, I know you’ve met Tim, and I’ve never been within 500 miles of you. Please be more specific before making such a general statement, ok?

As for the dynojet / dynocom charts. There were only two and one of those cars has been on a dynojet quite a few times since then.
You might find it interesting that on the dynojet the numbers are now even higher (same motor, different tune).

I still get a kick out of victim John crying about how you were attacked on Rennlist……Give me a break. You dished it out just like everyone else.

This whole incident is very disappointing to me. I’m still grateful to you for the help way back when with my car, and I really thought after our last e-mail exchanges all the BS was behind us. I guess I was wrong, some things will never change.
I thought things were looking up when about a month ago when Mark sent me PM about his car and recent changes, upgrades, power goals etc…. I thought this was cool, maybe we were all on a friendlier page for once. Guess I was wrong.

Good luck on your endeavors, please try to understand the world is not out to get you. Those you choose to alienate with snide comments from time to time do respect your work and what you’ve done with 928’s (I know this is hard for you to believe). It’s true.
Stop with the BS and just let your car speak for itself.

I would also read Normy's post again - he hit the nail right on the head. He is also far from "one of the guys in Wisconsin". As far as I know, none of us have ever met him. Tried to last year, but our schedules didn't allow it.

Any chance you all can take the shark attacks to another forum? I thought this thread was about turbo's. More build photos less drama.
