Injector Question

Does anyone know the peak and hold amps of stock 951 injectors? This is for my Megasquirt project.

I could also use the same #'s for NA injectors as well.

Well, 951 stock injectors are ~4.5ohm. So at 14volts, that would be a little over 3.1 amps each.
The 944 injectors are ~2.5ohm. Which gives ~5.6amps each.

criminy. how do you figure this stuff out? electricity is a mystery, mostly, to me. i can use a multimeter for SIMPLE stuff, and usually kill a fuse in it, but that is the limit for me.

V = I * R

And those numbers are on the high - end. I was pretty much assuming max voltage, and not account for any V drop in the driver circuit.

For those that dont know:

Peak and hold injectors (less than 4 ohm) need a initial "burst" of energy to get them to open causing them to open faster than saturated injectors (10-16 ohm).

The initial burst of energy (the peak) is then followed by a lower amperage that is sufficient to hold the injector open. Hence the name "peak and hold."

I assume that those numbers are for the peak number? Does anyone know the hold number? This is usually between 1-2 amp.

Thanks for the fast response!!!!!

One other thing

"V = I * R"

V=Volts
R= Ohms

But

I=Amps?

I always used an "A" Since I have no formal training in electronics have I been doing it wrong?

I = Amps

And 1-2amps for hold should be fine.
