How To Tell If Have LSD? For AX Classification (PCA GGR)

This is a dumb question, but how do I tell if my car (1989 Carrera) has a limited slip differential? I classed myself, ended up in AX13. Then as I was reviewing the results, I saw that I had denied having LSD, and that is a 30-point mod. I want to make sure I'm being accurate.

Also, where do I get the point deduction for the child seats?

John,

Simply jack up the rear of the car (both rear tires off the ground) and spin either side's tire/wheel ... if the opposite side's tire/wheel moves in the SAME direction as the tire/wheel you are moving, then you have Limited Slip... If the other tire/wheel doesn't move at all, or moves in the opposite direction, then you don't.

Hope this helps,

When you talk to the houseplants, do they talk back? If so, you have LSD. If they're going door to door on bicycles, you have LDS.

Look in your owners manual or open the trunk and look up at the under side of the hood. In both places should be about a 3x5 sticker with all the option codes for your car. 220 is limited slip.

Thom, speaking of LDS, if you're a fan of Trey Parker and Matt Stone, you gotta rent "Orgasmo". It's twisted and wrong, but in a good way. Funny as hell.

The fern says I'm okay, he's okay. The cactus says "bite me".

And the ficus says "You wouldn't happen to have a tire patch kit and a pump, would you?"

Check your option tag as noted above, that's how I found out I had it. Sure wish I could actually make use of it though

I'm getting there.......slowly!

Cool limited slip

Just dump the clutch and hit the gas on a dirt road and take a look back behind you and tell me what you see.

How would a TB diff (Quaife) respond?

Good question Colin,

I never tried spinning one on jacks...

I would assume it would act the same as a LSD

Cheers,
