Very pretty bike Baz! I think the navy and silver is my favorite scheme.

I plan on doing a photo shoot this week of the 3 Blue bikes currently running plus a couple of the White versions, so stay tuned. As far as RED versions.....they began in 1990, the first year of the Gen-3 VFR. I currently have this one - and have another just like it scheduled for transport soon. This was the first model with a single rear swing arm and only came in this colour the first year and also had the White wheels. My lower fairings are not attached at the moment. Also, you can see another of my Blue versions behind it. I need to sort out a fuel issue with it - otherwise it would be my 4th running Blue one. Hopefully will get to it soon....

I like the white version a lot, too, but I stared at that blue one for a while. The graphics are so tastefully designed and applied, and now I would have a tough time deciding on one or the other if I were in the hunt. The silver seat cover is one thing I'd probably change; I'd most likely search for a black or dark charcoal version.

That Silver seat is supposed to be Gray but it's an OEM never re-covered unit, so the Gray has definitely faded over time. They came from the factory with the Gray seats, so I'm trying to remain true to these bike's originality. I did buy some new material that is IMO the proper shade of Gray to recover a seat but just haven't had time to do that yet. The White bikes came with a Black seat but heck that Gray looks nice on them, to further complicate things. Then there's a dark blue that went on the '86 VFR700 & VFR750 RWB bikes. I now have seats in all of these colors and it's not hard to swap back and forth. To add to all this....they make a seat cowl that goes over the passenger part of the seat and a lot of the guys like those. I personally like the bikes without the cowl - because I'm weird that way...lol. But have to admit when the cowl is attached it does change the look. And I have a stash of them available for use if I want, too. Here's a Blue one I just got last week.....and a bunch of others I already have collected...... And how one would look on a Blue bike with a less faded Gray seat.....

Have to make a correction on my last post. The bike is not coming tomorrow. It was indeed picked up in Maryland but the transporter has more places to go before heading here so I don't really know when she will arrive.
Anyway......more things happening here on other machines. Got some of my fairings washed off today that came with the two deliveries two weeks ago. This tail fairing is perfect - a unicorn! Then was able to get this fuel cap off the spare Blue tank - yah!!! After a 2 day soak with Evapo-Rust, then a wash out with water, then blasting inside with my power washer, then a heavy spray of PB Blaster and another overnight.....she started moving today. I used a pair of pliers and gently moved the key back and forth until she gave way and came off. Now I can continue the rehab of the tank interior. So stoked because aside from one dent, this is a NICE tank! Lastly, my key order arrived and got an ignition key for that RC24 bike that arrived keyless. I got the code from the seat lock and then ordered keys. Was able to confirm they work tonight! Huge!

Would love to get my hands on a mint late 90's early 2000's sport bike.
Owned FZRs and ZX7s back in the day. Would love one to park beside my 25 ZX6R. Specically a late 90's ZX7R or RR. Love the VFR750 pics. Single side swing arm, those were on my radar back in my ZX7 days... Cheers

Along with all the parts I got a few weeks ago was this lower RC24 fairing with a huge crack along the middle. Luckily it was still in one piece. I had set it aside for a later repair and last night I decided to at least get the crack stabilized to avoid escalation of the crack.
Here's the fairing on the day I was washing all the parts..... And what the repair looks like on the rear side of the fairing. I sanded off the white paint along the crack - just on the inside. Then placed aluminum tape along the front side of the crack. Then used a plastic welder to melt both sides of the crack together. Then melted one stick of white ABS flat stock along the crack. Sucker is pretty solid now so will set it aside until the day comes to continue. Probably sometime this winter or next spring when I have the time.

So it is not visible once attached to the bike. Thus not necessary for it to look "nice". That said......once I get back to doing this repair, I will probably paint both front and back and along with that will be work on the front crack along with sanding.
