Ok fixing a non smart tv... that is the definition of tenacious in my book. Congrats.
This grill shell is a reproduction and man it ain't close to smooth....
It's all mudded up and ready for Monday!

Is that the grill shell that you primered? I have used "sandable primer" that sprayed very rough and had to be worked smooth.
Looks cool, I'm guessing '32 Ford?

Sometimes things fall into place.
Yesterday, I snatched up some 102 year old work/ safety glasses off FB marketplace. The owner was nice enough to deliver them to me.



Took em' home, disassembled them, cleaned each piece and cut out new inserts using model train window acetate.





After some cleaning, reassembled. These were nickel plated and made of brass, copper, and steel. There was heavy oxidation, which had damaged the nickel plating, and any attempt to remove the oxidation just wore away the plating more. It reminded me, when these glasses were made, there was no such thing as chrome plating yet. Nickel has such warmer quality than chrome. Absolutely amazing craftsmanship and quality. I may strip them more and nickel re-plate at home, but sooo happy right now. Also I might change the acetate for leather, but for now, all good!

edit- Also, for a 100+ year old set of glasses, look how the temples are set to swing out and around to the front of the glasses to close them up. This thing looks delicate, but I just about used them today for some grinding under the car. I was just too lazy to go inside to get em'. I would trust them 100% though!

Those are some really cool safety glasses, they do look delicate but look well crafted for sure.

Will be ordering parts for the upstairs fridge today.

Appears that defrost did not terminate and the heaters stayed on too long.

Fridge was not defrosting after even though the heaters (deformed from the overheat) still ohm out ok.

Will order the heaters/termination switch and the control board. Most people wouldn't invest $120 in a 24 year old fridge, but I built the kitchen around the fridge.

Very cool glasses! I finished my lotus sign and put up. also fixed a snowblower I found on the curb. I coudnt get the carb to run without choke so bought a new one and its running great.

Thanks you might be wondering why such a substantial wall supporting the middle Its actually an amish built 2 car garage so it was transported in 2 halves each self supporting. My dad actually designed it and had it approved then they built it and sent it up from pennsylvania. Its nice because it has wood floors like an amish shed so it doesnt get condensation in there. They did a crappy job on on the roof though no tar paper and stapeled on shingles so it didnt last long.

Iv been working wood too. Made this seat for my fat bike. The cutout with screen is for the air filter and so mice dont chew into it. Then layered up some foam. The top piece is from an old pickup truck seat cover I like using those because they are heat pleated and padded already and cheap from the junk yard. Then the sides are a stretchy vinyl makes it easier to fit the cover. It came out great probably one of the nicest seats Iv made yet.

Built this charger/battery storage box to keep all my Milwaukee M12 and M18 batteries organized, charged and stored in one place as they tend to get scattered. Got the project idea on YouTube. The struts raise the lid automatically when the latch is opened and keep it from closing when the chargers are weighted down with batteries.

The content provider who came up with this idea added an extension cord to link the chargers together inside the box which was deployed via a hole drilled in the back and its plug was stored in a dummy receptacle on the outside of the box which took up at least one full storage bin in the box. I didn't see the point of doing this. I wrapped the cords together with electrical tape to keep them from tangling and they store easily on top of the batteries. No drilling - no muss - no fuss and Bobs' your uncle.

This will get alot of use!

Parts arrived last week and I installed them on Saturday. So far so good.

The refrigeration side on this fridge has been flawless. It is why I keep fixing it.

One thing I haven't done is replace the icemaker control board. Ice maker still runs fine but the flap to let the ice out of the door is done. That board is too pricey for me to buy into when I can just reach into the freezer and get ice. The board bombed during a power outage/low voltage event a few years back.

My five year old TLC TV quit, two days before the Superbowl.

TV works, no LED backlight. I am trying to diagnose it now. There's no power to the LED's, so it's either a failed LED strip or a failed power supply....might be a new TV, might be $50 and some time spent solving it. The latter will be more satisfying.

I wet sanded rv4 wings yesterday in preparation for honda silver today. Will shoot the silver and clear ppg over aerothane. I shot epoxy primer over the alodined skin. Aerothane is very flexible, it's designed that way from the jump... no flex agents added after the fact. The ppg honda silver is possibly one of the best silvers I've worked with in terms of a finished appearance. Tomorrow I'll be laying out the star and bar mask... oh... also yesterday was a leg day... before work.... boot deep in the parking lot knee and hip deep on the mountain.... almost a perfect day!

Certainly not up to the standards of above posts, but when I stripped down the lawn tractor last fall, I figured I'd better address the rust on the sheet metal. When I had it in primer, the wife suggested (half joking) it should match the New Holland. OK, fine.



The granddaughter will be 10 this year. Time for her to take over mowing the lawns.
