Though this is a G model (since retired) the H models will finally be getting new engines after 60 years. Rolls Royce won the re-engine contract.

The Navy and Marines were the same way, both jets and helos.

When I got my wings, the helos in the inventory were: Cobras, Hueys (both services and many different T/M/S), H-2's, H-3's, H-46's, 53D's, 53E's (completely different from the D, btw) and the new 60B.

Even the Coast Guard had three completely different helicopters.

I was a plankowner in the first 60B squadron.

The Navy then set out to enact the "Helo Master Plan". There are now two variants of the H-60, the MH-60R and MH-60S. They share the same cockpit and most of the same dynamic components. Huge savings in training and logistics.

I understand the cost saving though I would have loved to have been a military pilot (USN or USAF) in the '50s or '60s.

Many years ago I read a book, which you may have read, called 'Feet Wet' by Paul Gillcrist. Incredible how many types of aircraft he flew in the Navy. I think there was one part in the book, if I recall correctly, where he had just arrived at a new assignment/Air Station and was flying in their aircraft (a new make and model to him) the same day!

It was a different world, even in the 80's.

I looked up all the T/M/S in my log book:

T-34B/C, Jet Ranger A/B/C, T-2 and A-4, KA-6 (I was stashed at VT-10 and VA-42 before flight school and got backseat rides), F-4, TC-4C (again, at Oceana), P-3, S-3 (at VX-1 in Pax), H-2, H-3, H-46 (with the Marines for my initial NVG quals), 60B/F/H, UH-60L, 53E (at the Sikorsky factory) Whisky Cobra, old Huey's, MD-500, single engine Cobra (with the Maryland National guard) and, finally, backseat missile chase in an F-18.

exactly, there's a ban on masks in many European countries (well, precovid ban?) outside carnival , and then that because a big fuss for islamic head wear for women, like full covered bhurka discussion in the 2000-2010 years.

But face paint is not a mask, it doesn't really hide yer features.
Any photoshopper worth his salt can remove that and make you identifiable, it's just colors.

Are they going to keep the 2 engines per nacelle, or finally get them similar engines like perhaps a 747 ... 1 per pod but bigger diameter?

That's a nice list - I'm jealous, particularly the F-4 and A-4 (even though I'm a rotor guy).

Eight engines. There were several reasons for this, one being that a single big turbofan on the far end of the wings wouldn't clear the ground during certain taxiing conditions.

I was curious of all the models I'd flown (not as long as Seahawk's list):

The majority of my time is in the various AS350 Astar models, the AS355F2, B206B, B206L models, BK117, B212, (only about a half hour in the 212 though), MD500, MD520N, various Bell 47 models, Enstrom F28, H300C, R44, R22. On my Private certificate: C150, C172.

Random:

well, they could just shorten the pylon a bit or put caster wheels on the outer nacelle
MD520N
That is super neat. Color me jelly.

I almost got some stick time at their Mesa facility - a friend of mine was a test pilot there - but the flight was cancelled.

Look, Ma, no tail rotor!

Most folks don't realize that a lot of the noise a helicopter makes is due to the interface between main rotor and tail rotor air. The NOTAR is very quiet compared to other helos.

I forgot a Taiwan S-70, King Air, Queen Air, and a bunch of small private airplanes.

Nice walk down memory lane!
