FedEx used to be reasonably close on ETA for shipments, but while UPS and USPS has gotten better, FedEx has gotten worse, and it seems like they've just given up completely now.

I ordered something the other day, and the day that the vendor created label for shipping FedEx sent me an email that said "arriving tomorrow". I was shocked.

But that was yesterday and nothing arrived. And this is what FedEx is showing now.

So they're going to provide a date as long as it starts moving.
Based on the screenshot below, it looks like it's moving.

It must take hours for them to service the neighborhood versus minutes, if the owners took their garbage cans to the street. But, then the neighbor would be on sightly with garbage cans at the street! 🙄

This is the same neighborhood, that complained to the ARB, that I had a 12 inch deep trench, cut 2 foot behind the curb, because they were afraid somebody walking their dog would fall in. I had to block it off. Double 🙄🙄

We also have to enclose the dumpsters, so that the homeowners don’t see them. These people need a job or a hobby.

That sounds like a GREAT place...

to never buy a house or live.

And I know that this has been posted, but it seems so fitting. This guy was not allowed to park his boat in his driveway so he worked it out so he could park it behind the fence, but then had the fence painted so they still had to see his boat.

The thing is an open trench near any kind of walkway has to be marked for liability purposes. It should not need a HOA to enforce this.

Now surrounding a dumpster is something else. Maybe there's a opportunity here for a company to paint trees and landscaping on their dumpsters ala the boat and fence painting. I've seen that too but it's still funny if it's real (look at the last fence board to the left and then to the right. The posts are wrong amongst other things).

I saw this on FB.

Quote:
Ever wondered how £100,000 F1 brakes are made?
Here's what I discovered at Brembo factory...
200 mph to 60 in just 3 seconds.
That's what F1 brakes can do. Crazy, right?
But here's what I learned when I got rare access to Brembo factory in Italy:
Each F1 brake calliper starts as a solid block of aluminium lithium.
Not because it's necessarily the best material, but because F1 banned the exotic (and toxic) materials teams used to experiment with.
The manufacturing process is incredible:
-Every calliper is carved from a single piece of metal
-They machine away most of the original block
-6 titanium pistons go inside
-The final design looks like modern art
But the carbon discs?
That's where it gets interesting...
They start as what looks like a piece of thick felt.
Seriously. It's soft and fuzzy - nothing like the final product that glows red-hot during races.
The transformation process:
-Special needling (like textile manufacturing)
-Carbonisation in massive ovens
-Methane gas treatment
-1,200 precision-drilled cooling holes
-15 hours of machining. Per disc.
-Tolerances of 0.02mm (thinner than a human hair)
Total production time: 3 months
The precision is astronomical.
Every single component gets checked. Nothing leaves the factory without perfect QC.
And when they're on the car?
These brakes handle temperatures of 1000°C - the same as actual lava - while maintaining perfect performance lap after lap.

At the 2006 Monaco Grand Prix, Kimi Raikkonen's McLaren suffered a mechanical failure in the middle of the race. So without even taking his helmet off he walked straight on to his yacht moored in the marina next to the circuit. That's Kimi.

Valtteri Bottas' last #F1 race, the 2024 season finale, involved an incident with Kevin Magnussen that meant he'd have a five-place grid drop penalty for his next one.
Despite speculation he wouldn't have to serve the penalty if he returns in 2026, it seems now we have an answer from the FIA
