It looks like they amended that law 3 years ago and I missed it. Was not reported well at all. Guess they decided they did not want to lose that lawsuit.

Right. As I understand the convoluted anti 2A laws in CA, if you transport your gun to the range, set up and supervise it's use you can share it with others at the range and then transport it home.

If you loan a firearm to a friend for a period where it is outside of your control they must already be a registered firearm owner with a completed background check. It is a muddy area and I am not sure if this must go through an FFL to be legal. I am not comfortable with this and I think it is easily misinterpreted so I won't do it. We can thank the San Bernardino shooter for this one.

So, you actually can loan a gun in CA at the range when you are present?

These laws are super confusing and constantly changing.

Yes, of course. Just hassling gun owners. Same with these ammo rules etc.

I am pretty moderate on gun control, so some rules in place I don't have a problem with, but they are not concise, connected and easy to follow. You need to be on your toes in CA as a gun owner, not to break a new law you hadn't heard about.

Sadly, I still think it is done at a loss, meaning you pay for it as the gun owner and the general population still pays for it with their taxes.

What do you do? Move to Texas?
