I raced slot cars (and painted my car) for the first time ever a week and a half ago - it was a lot of fun!

Luftgekühlt-style plinths for a few of my air-cooled cars.

I'd also like to come up with the black banding that the real ones have.

Those are cool. I can see making some model train car loads of lumber in a similar fashion.
What did you use?

I now have a, "Ohio" George Montgomery shelf in my display case.
A copy of our book, a die-cast model of his Willys, and a plastic model of the Ranchero he was awarded for winning "Little Eliminator" at the Nationals in 1960. All signed by George.

The LMP2 is Spark, Rexy is MiniGT if 1:64, TSM if 1:43. I can’t find my Rexy order confirmation.

Have always loved that iconic baby-blue Willys ( 'willis".) Had the plastic model when I was small.

That is super cool! I had the plastic model as a kid

Great idea! I may steal it I'm kicking around ideas of a new display case for the 1:43s.

Spark has got an unbelievable catalog of cars. All sorts of obscure low-volume stuff that nobody else does. But not cheap for sure! as an example, this Shadow Can-Am car. Hardly anyone is doing any Shadows much less this white one.

Today I pre-ordered the 2025 Petit LeMans Rexy skeleton livery in 1/64 from Toronto Motorsports . It is from MiniGT . My small collection is all Porsche's in either Hot Wheels or Matchbox . But I just had to have that skeleton livery . I think they will be available in February.

That is very cool! And the detail on Spark models is outstanding.

^^^ Some of the detail on Spark is approaching hand-built level. It's crazy. If I recall, Spark is resin bodies, not diecast, right? I've been out of the 43rd game for years and don't know the latest. I wonder if any of these are being 3D printed? Seems like a good way to produce the obscure stuff at a relatively low initial manufacturing cost.
