Force it on them, unknowingly.

The real consequence for those not getting the vaccine will be them joining hard immunity the "other" way.
|
So we are now deciding the punishment for those who don't blindly comply with a CDC suggestion to take an experimental vaccine, to reduce the severity of a virus ? It doesn't keep anyone from getting, or spreading the virus (even the far superior folks who have been vaccinated) ?

I am old enough to be included to get in line at school to get polio and smaellpox shots in the 1950s. It was a unified effort, a national cause. I don't get it - but we a have personal choice and freedom card that is pulled. The freedom card is a dog whistle to me. Finally, the ultimate truth are the over 600K who have lost their lives and how that is affected their families. |
A mandatory date with Rosie O'Donnell with sex being required? That'd get most men to get the vaccine and probably 90% of the women too.

If not, then seal the boarder, restrict travel to/from other countries and start lock downs again. Can't be too careful when the dig whistle blows. Yes? BTW, what is COVID death rate for a 30 year-old with no co-morbidity factors? |

I think our founding fathers didn't bother with a Bill of Responsibilities when they created a Bill of Rights because they assumed US citizens would feel a sense of responsibility to each other if they were going to make our democracy work. Looks like they overestimated Americans. Sometime since the 1950s people decided exercise of their "rights" was all our country needed to survive. So few people feel any sense of responsibility to their fellow citizens these days. It's sad, and I think it's another rung on the ladder down to the demise if this great experiment in democracy. |

I recommend we shut down the border, restrict travel to/from countries outside our borders, issue state-by-state travel restrictions, and isolate all those who have not gotten the vaccine, including the majority of blacks and hispanics in this country. Ready? |

If you think that these vaccines are as effective as your natural immunity or without side effects for everyone concerned, not counting those few where the side effects are severe, then you just haven’t done any homework. That is your right, just don’t criticize those that have done so, for they might be proven to be smarter than you, in the end. Thinking for yourself might not be familiar to you, but rest assured, it’s business as usual for a significant percentage of the population. |
Anyone who looks seriously at your rationalizations really needs to look at your all time best thread. Puts it all into perspective. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/off-topic-discussions/1098838-okay-i-initially-thought-unadulterated-bs-how-about-experiment.html

we have to listen to the smugness of those that got it.
we also have to deal with the idiotic statement that we are endangering the lives of those that got it. |

As I said, I feel bad about those who literally can not take a vaccine for medical reasons. But those who are anti-vaxers motivated by political and/or conspiracy nuts I'm OK if the consequence of their choice is illness and/or death. Their choice has little affect on me and it's their choice. There is an old story about a man who was caught in a flood. He was sitting on his front porch when a police car came tearing down the street warning everyone, "Evacuate immediately. The dam is about to break and the town would soon be flooded". Guy on the porch said, "No. I believe in God's Providence. He will protect me." A couple hours later he is sitting on his second story window sill with flood water lapping at his feet. Some men came along in a boat and said, "Hop in the boat! We'll take you to safety!" Guy in the window said, "No. I believe in God's Providence. He will protect me." A couple hours later he is sitting on the peak of his roof with the flood water up to his knees. A helicopter came by and dropped a rope. "Grab onto the rope and we'll take you to safety!" Guy on the roof said, "No. I believe in God's Providence. He will protect me." Pretty soon the guy was swept away by the flood and drowned. When he got to heaven he asked God, "God, I believed in you and trusted you and thought you would protect me. Why did you abandon me in my hour of need?" God said, "ABANDON?? I sent you a warning, a boat, and a helicopter, what the hell do you want?? So my attitude is that God has tried to help these people and if they don't want to accept the help they'll have to meet Him and talk to Him about it personally. I'm out. |

Funny.....I brought "camps" last year in a thread and got shat on. This thread has multiple references from internment to execution. The poll shows 18% in agreement for that option.
