And I could not be more grateful. The big one has been running through 4 winds now and it is keeping time within 1 minute in 24 hours. The other one I got running but stops when you pick it up. So it will go to my watch guy for a good cleaning and lube. The big silver one I can't get open so it will go there as well. The one that interests me the most is the Hampden Railroad watch. It's rough needs two hands but is a pretty rare bird. It will go as well. Thank you for entrusting these legacy watches. ![]() ![]() by the way I sent your sock back...LOL.

I’ve got a few cheap watches that I rotate around based on mood, and I’ve been researching building a custom seiko in the future.
My favorite will always be this Laco though. It was built for the 928 group on rennlist, and designed by my friend RKDinOKC. After he passed I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to buy it from his estate. Picture from the 928 corral at Rennsport.

My wife bought this Longines automatic for Christmas last year and I love it, especially the very subtle blue on the hands that only shows up in certain light. I'm not a big jewelry guy but I really enjoy having a quality mechanical piece that doesn't scream "look at me!" like a modern Tag or Rolex.

My most out-of-the-box suggestion? Bulova. Accutron or Computron both scream 1970s and you can find vintage models cheap.

Well, I'm not a hardcore watch enthusiast either, but I get where you're coming from. For driving my '77 outlaw, I went with a vintage Speedmaster. There's something about it that just feels right.
In case you're still hunting for the perfect watch, here's a thought. I recently came across replica panerai models, and honestly, they look so much like the originals that it's hard to tell the difference. It made me question whether I should pay the high cost for the original. For me, it was all about the look and feel, not necessarily the brand or price tag. What's your take on replicas? Not car specific but the vintage (late 1960's) Seiko Rally Dive watches are just really cool. There are 3 or 4 models. The gray and blue faced ones are the best looking IMHO. They were reissued recently too. Very similar but note quite the same feel as the originals. Still very cool though. Vintage Seiko dive watches have become "a thing" in the last few years so you'll be spending $1k-$2k on really nice, original examples.

I usually wear the same quartz watch everyday, but lately I've been rotating the automatics to make sure they don't have dry spots.

I love how one of your fancy watch photo backdrops is your Bosch dishwasher.

The Tag I’ve worn daily since 97. The Rolex I purchased used last summer. I wear it every day. When I travel I leave the Rolex at home and take the Tag.
