This news is just stunning. And heartbreaking. Paul, you oversaw the best years of PPOT. I miss you. We all miss you. Praying we see you back here someday.

Ive just had to explain to my wife why I am crying about a man I know on the internet. I explained what sort of person Mr. Seahawk is and now she understands. She is the religious one in the family and said that tonight she will pray for Paul.

So sorry to hear about Paul's health issue.

My wife and I really enjoyed driving to the farm, and having dinner cooked by Paul's wife. Jack was there as well. That farm is a wonderful property.

I sure hope he pulls through. We all miss him on the forum.

He had some great advice as I was starting my aerial photography business. Give him a hug for us Pelicans.

I'm at a loss for words, so this will have to do.

I was lucky enough to call Paul a friend “in real life” and also collaborated with him professionally. I can say for certain that he is every bit as incredible of a person in real life. It’s beyond gut-wrenching because when I last saw him a few months ago he was very exited about the prospect of slowing down and spending more time with his family.

I met him in 2006 when I sold a 4Runner that I listed on Pelican, he flew to Wichita and we spent the afternoon together and hit it off immediately. I believe his wife put over 300k on that 4Runner before they sold it to another Pelican. Over the years we kept in touch and periodically met for lunch/dinner/drinks as our schedules aligned, and in 2016 I returned the favor and bought an RX7 that his father had owned since new. I restored it and eventually had to sell for financial reasons, damn I wish I still had that car. More recently we had been collaborating on UAV projects, he is an absolute wealth of knowledge and a great partner. If anybody can defy the odds and beat this, it’s Paul.

I don’t have any dog pics, how about an RX7?

I rode in that car with Paul's dad driving, what a life this has been. I'm praying for the best outcome but it sounds pretty bad. He is way too young for this to be happening.

Seahawk is the best of PPOT. An accomplished, loved, classy man. I am very sorry to hear this.

I can't believe what I just read, my prayers go out to you and your family and miracles do happen so please keep the faith.

As many here do, Paul espoused carpe diem. Should the worst come to play, it was an incredibe fully, well-lived time among us and we are all a little better to have had him around.

Absolutely horrible news to hear. I never had the pleasure of meeting your father in person but have always respected him so much. His presence here will be missed...I'm glad you've had the time with him that you have and I wish all of your family the best.

I've always liked him and his attitude in PARF. I really hope he gets batter.

It's hard to believe in the modern world an infection can result in 40 days in the ICU much less calling it the end. How does this happen? Goes to show you that every day is precious.

I have to echo several comments about butting heads with Paul, but over insignificant issues. I also had a little business conducted with Paul and he is a superb upstanding person. A true gentleman if there every was one. And way smarter than me.

All I can offer is hope that there is a turn around. Completely unexpected and that stings.

Paul, you have my best and most earnest wishes for recovery. All the best to you and your family. Thank you, daughter.

I don't have the words . . . . I'm pulling for you, Paul!

Always a class act. Approached moderating PARF with grace, sensitivity, understanding, and a sense of fairness and judgement I can only hope to aspire to.

Paul, here's a basket of kittens -- hope it brightens your day!

Damn.
Forty days in ICU.
And still not recovered.
Sounds like sepsis.
My brother had it, almost killed him too.
Said he'd never had pain like that before, and he's had lung cancer surgery so he should know.

Paul, I've enjoyed your posts tremendously. Especially the ones about your son and the farm and life in general. The pictures of the farm and the water.
As a dad, and now a grandfather, I always read your posts to find the trinkets of wisdom you'd always drop into them about how to go about being a better person/father/grandfather.
I'm so sorry to hear that a 'routine' operation has taken such an ugly turn.
