Oddjob lives right around the corner from me. I have not seen him in years and his 911 would be easy to spot around here too. I may ride past his baby-poo brown walled compound today and rev my engine

That's funny about Dipso. He is around close by. I have messaged him, but not for awhile. This thread can bring back some memories. Let's all hope Paul doesn't become a memory. John, you're right about belonging here.

I was thinking about last fall and how you 'roped' me into this gig. Even though I’ve been around this community about as long, you’ve always had a much better handle on the personalities and the way things flow here. I’m truly going to miss having your hand on the internal compass.
I’ve been thinking a lot about our chats and our common interests over the years. I regret letting the distance keep me from taking you up on that invite to visit. I wish I’d made the trip. |

I’m sorry to hear. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
I still have the propeller you gave me years ago in the X-Mas exchange. It sits on top of a book shelf in my man cave. I look at it every day.

Seahawk has been a calming influence in the roiled seas of PARF, that’s one thing for sure. It’s a great tribute to the man that voices from all across the political spectrum clearly agree that he is a stand up guy and has their sincere respect.
He strikes me as a tough old b@$t**d so I’m not counting him out yet and hope he reappears here one day at least for a cameo to spread calm and common sense. But if it’s his time I pray he is comfortable and at peace knowing he has made a real difference in this world. Gratuitous dog pic, Ayla looks just like me only prettier. She sends licks.

I was a little stunned by how much this hit me.
I have only interacted with him here and a few funny PMs when he needed to brush me back from the plate for some parf stuff. Prayers for him and his crew. Last edited by dlockhart; 04-17-2026 at 11:01 PM.. |

Seahawk and family after reading the thread yesterday and while praying, something came to me.
Psalms 23. It helps during struggles.

I'm not generally at a loss for words but this has left me stuttering in disbelief.
Paul is best described (for me) as the best friend I've never met. I'm praying for a miracle.

I've tried to post twice (much longer posts) that aren't getting thru CF nonsense...
Many of us are simply stunned ... and at a loss ... Just floundering here too.... Be well Paul... and go in peace ... YOU made a difference ... and I am a better person because of you... and everyone else here too. Thank you sir! He sent me a thoughtful PM after I posted in the dawgy thread years ago... I'll never forget

Paul, I pulled out the Motown vinyl record collection that you sent me to enjoy. It brings me happiness. It also brings my dog happiness!

I'm praying for a full recovery.
Seahawk is the only pelican that I came close to meeting(he stopped at the restaurant on his way to VMI).

When I first heard he was going to take on a moderator role for PARF, I sent him a note
basically asking if he had lost his mind (in so many words), commented on how it was a no-win sitch and herding feral cats, and wished him luck in the endeavor. Oh was I surprised at how well he handled it, solving the unsolvable puzzle and making it look easy from my vantage. Something I could never envision myself or pretty much anyone else pulling off. The better man was revealed.
