Two morning doves, made a nest sometime late last month and the female laid two eggs. Both hatched and today they made their first flights. I thought they were gone, but when I came home this afternoon, the two babies were on my stairs. Unfortunately, the male bird (dad) seems to have disappeared about two weeks ago. Mom has done a great job with her offspring. She chose a high traffic area to build a nest.

Here we were, the wife and me, minding our own business walking aroung Santa Rosa when out of the blue we stumble onto him and his side kick Woodstock. What a great experience and what a nice guy. Pleasant to talk with too (of course Woodstock didn't have much to say but he was nice). Later we ran into him again and he had flowers for my wife. She was thrilled. I couldn't believe how tall he was in real life.
