Sorry about the poor quality pics....taken with my point and shoot using telephoto in early morning light.

Two raccoons frolicking in the lot behind my house. Unusual to see raccoons out in daylight but maybe they felt safe in this location.

Must be a male and female....they had some pretty good wrestling bouts which I didn't catch on film.

Cute little beggars....

In my front yard is a very tall palm tree trunk with no top on it. It used to be a Washingtonia robusta palm, which lost it's head a year ago due to the palmetto weevil. Anyway....I left the trunk up in case it was something the wildlife could use and sure enough some woodpeckers have made themselves a home at the top. I'll have to figure out how to catch some live action. Maybe a trail camera would work.

June of 1971. We finally made it to the top. Had quite a parade following us up the pass. We were pulling over to let folks pass whenever we could.

Lost yet another healthy oak(so I thought) on the property during last nights wind storm. Love a heavy rainy season(70") following years of drought.

But the two 60' dead digger pines are still standing, WTH?!?!? Oh wait, their name was changed a few years back to the Grey Pine because someone thought the name was offensive to the Digger Indian tribe.

I will need to show this to the wife, her niece has a salon in Phoenix and this is something she would totally do...

This is a hive they estimate to be over 100 years old that fell from a tree at the AU Zoo during our visit.
