Discovered why all these pretty little black birds, you know, the ones with the 5' wingspan and heads that look like a scrotum were out n about on the property. Bambi bit the big one. 15-20' down the hill on the adjacent property. Stinks like hell too.

Thanks!! It was a beautiful skink.

Actually, I took those with my iPhone. There is a funny story behind the pics The skink was being harassed by Doby(cat) up the hill from where I was sitting. It was around dusk when I saw him do that cat predator thing. He goes charging up and then hopped around like he was being bitten. After laughing at him I go see what it is. No sooner that I call his name to distract him. It scurries down the hill, across the culvert onto the driveway and right towards my feet looking for a place to hide. Then it tried to bite my toes while looking for a place to hide because it was pissed and I was wearing flip flops. Now picture me dancing around trying not to get bit and step on this guy. It actually latched onto the phone and I lifted it 6" all while it was thrashing back and fourth. Guess that isn't too surprising since I stuck it in its face for a pic. In all, it was around 10-11" long. I relocated it to a dark place under our shed.

I dig lizards
