Location: Placerville, CA.... You know, the only place on Highway 50 between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe the you find signal lights. Above the fog most of the time and I can see the stars of the Milky Way 8 out of 10 nights. Kinda cool.....

Up and over the North Cascades hiway one last time before the annual winter closure
Liberty Bell from Washington Pass at 5477'  Slate Peak (7440'), not LATE PCAK from Hart's Pass at 6200'  Fire ravaged valley, great echoes though!  Wandered through a mining equipment museum in Winthrop Wa. This engine is three Volkswagon sized & way stinking heavier  Tractor with attitude  Puddlejumper

Those old Atlas Engines are awesome. this one is a 1927 out of a tugboat and its exactly like the one above. this is a great video if you want to waste a few minutes
