This evening at the Getty Center in L.A.

Same picture, but a little more bluesy via Photoshop.

It is the old Hwy 411 near Telico. When they flooded the lake they had to put in a new roadway and that is what's left of the original road. Other places in the lake you can see the tops of Silos from when farmlands got flooded.

Porsche Crest

The debate, should I use this Fat Performance 911 fan conversion on my 2.2 twin plug type IV or not. BTW, it is not for sale as I want it in case I ever get a Speedster kit car or another beetle and use my extra 2.0 in.

You got me with that one Por_sha911!

I have no idea what's up with my bird. He has never been like this. I think he absorbed his BF's personality!

This is completely new. I think he is jealous that I spend so much time on the computer!

He's actually English . He is an English Parakeet, slightly larger than your natives. And, yes, I know they have been manipulated for different colors. He and his friend (deceased now) both have some feathers that had a light green tinge to them. Skyler is going through a big molt right now and I have feathers all over the house!

English parakeet is another name for the Melopsittacus undulatus, or the good 'ol Budgerigar.

A quote from one of my bird books

"Though Budgerigars are often called Parakeets, especially in American English"

Does he talk? Generally the domestic bred birds are larger then wild ones, sometimes by quite a margin, with respect to their overall size.

Yes, we do refer to them as parakeets. If you asked a kid if they wanted a 'Budgie', they would have no clue what it is. My guys are bred to be larger than the normal hand raised budgies you see in pet stores. If you put mine next to the birds in a pet store, you'd see the diff.

Skyler did talk when he was a baby and before we bought another, but as soon as you put two birds together, they will more than likely stop talking and you really have to work hard to get them both to talk. Skyler 'laughs' when he thinks somethings funny and he imitates the fish tank water pump.

He's too old now to train to talk.

Dave

They are great little birds. Rumour has it they have the emotional mind of a 3yr old with very distinct 'moods'. I have had several of the large Australian parrots. My Grandfather had a Corella that made it to 55yrs old. He was a bad tempered prick of a bird though.
