What's really unique about RORO ships is that the decks inside raise and lower to accommodate taller cargo. I watched as a yacht was being loaded. Even with the mast down, the keel made the thing 20 feet tall. So they raised the entry deck to get that sucker inside. The ramp swings right and left (or port and starboard) to be able to use both angles depending on how the ship is berthed.

You know, it's really weird to see a bunch of motor yachts being discharged from a ship. Most often they crane them over the water side (not a RORO).

Got to finally see Jake Shimabukuro live in concert last night. The Greatest Day tour was an amazing performance!! It is absolutely mind blowing the sound he can get from that ukulele, especially paired with a bass and an electric guitar. Played some of the greats such as Hendrix, his song he wrote for the movie “Go for Broke”, a documentary on the 442nd in WWII, others and finished out the night with Bohemian Rhapsody with audience participation with the lyrics.

Are you calculating your tip on the pre-tax amount? If the food tax rate is 7.5%, they are calculating it on the total tab after tax. ($37.98 @ 15% = $5.697, $37.98 * 1.075 = $40.83, $40.83 @ 15% = $6.13)

As always, our calculations are done “after”, to include the final amount including tax.

It was just an observation regarding the mathematical algorithm. Most folks would just scroll to the percentage. It just caught my attention, that is all.
