A marlin we caught in Mexico when I was living in a small town about 20 miles north of Belize in 2014 that I had to swap off with my uncle to get it in. It took us several hours and all five of us to get it in the boat. It was 300lbs and was almost 200 pounds of meat. I packed it in ten pound bags and handed it out to people I knew. We took a bunch and made a giant bowl of ceviche and shared it with everyone in the town. It was the best ceviche ever and I typically don’t eat seafood of any sort. Now I each fresh caught fish ceviche.

Pics of my uncle and I fishing in the channel between Mexico and Belize. He’s on the Belize side

One of my friends son on his new bicycle.

Also night fishing where we had to sneak in the navy pier after dark and get to the end where there weren’t any lights but lots of angry permit and barracuda to catch.

I took my stepsons fishing for the first time in their lives and they had a blast. They had never been before which amazed me.

More of me and my uncles adventure driving from Houston to Belize in my kayak laden Jeep. We’d get on google maps and find these lagoons out in the jungle and we hack our way through with machetes and push through with the Jeep until we got to them and unloaded our kayaks.

Some of the lagoons were huge and some were kinda small. The smaller ones were crystal clear with a white sandy bottom and only about 8 feet deep. These always got deeper the closer to the center you got and had big holes that fed tubes out to the ocean. We saw giant 8 ft barracuda and huge Tarpon around 7 ft and lots of other fish going in and out of this hole in the center.
I think it was a nursery where they come to have their babies and then go back out to the ocean in their secret tunnels. I don’t have any pics of these because my camera got wet at the first lagoon so I couldn’t take any more pics.
I wish I could’ve taken more pics. One of them had two giant sea turtles in it and they were easy to find because they left trails on the bottom for you to follow and find them.

This was one of my uncles bucket list trips. He’s had cancer for years but it supposedly got way more aggressive and wasn’t looking good. This was in 2014 and he’s still around today. They tried some new gene therapy or something when we got back from our trip since chemo wasn’t working and it put it back in remission.

We just bought a vacation home in the mountains and there is an apple tree in the far corner of the lot.
It might not seem like much but I don't see many in LA.
Fresh apples when escrow closes.

Just got in and two houses up from me had to go around this Oak Tree that broke. They get pretty big around here and the smart property owners have them pruned once in a while so they are not as prone to breaking. The winds have been howling here for the past 4 days so she finally gave way.

No crews on site yet so it had to have just happened as this is one of the main streets on the barrier island - and the only way to get to the Coast Guard station at the end of the street.

Took almost 2 hours for a crew to come out to cut the tree off the road. In the meantime two black and whites parked with their lights on.

I went out to do yard work in the front yard and my neighbor behind and 1 house over came by to check things out so we shot the breeze for about a 1/2 hour. I hardly ever see the guy but we've been neighbors for 24 years.

In the pics.....note the power line being held down by that one limb. When the county guy cut that limb that line sprung back up and went BOING - very loudly...lol.

Everyone said their Internet was out but mine never was. Mine comes in from the north so I guess it didn't affect me.

I pass by this old panel truck once in a while when out walking the dog around the neighborhood.

^^^Beautiful car, Stephen....love the color!

Yesterday, I harvested one of the 4 coconuts that one of my 3 Coconut Palms produced.

Both water and meat was sweet - but not super flavorful, but pretty cool that they produced this far north.

Okay, so this one it's technically mine, but it was taken at the same time/place I took mine.

You've found one of the perfect neighbors!

I had a weird issue on my phone this past weekend. If I went someplace where it was dark, the dark areas of the photo would show up green. If I went someplace with a lot of dark in the photo, but some bright white, that showed up pink. It was really strange and darn inconvenient at the time. I managed to get the thing to mostly work right again, and then following the most recent update, it's gone back to normal.
