Just had a hail storm blow through!

Doubt there's any damage but boy howdy that sucker is LOUD when you have as much metal roofing as I have!

And you've got some decent sized hail there. Most of my experience has been with hail that's dime sized or smaller. I think I have been through a storm like yours where it looked like you'd sometimes get a bunch of the little balls freezing together and ending up closer to the size of a quarter.

heheh, I have this mental image of everyone excusing themselves one by one during the picnic and moving their cars over to the other side. No reason to piss the guy off, but it would have been pretty funny to everyone else.

Love the image name, BTW.

It reminds me of a story. Many years ago on the Rennlist email list, one of the guys from Imagine Auto (I think it may have been Stephen Kaspar) told this story.

His wife went to the grocery store in an older Porsche 911 that they had. Being a couple of enthusiasts, she thought "great, I get to park next to another Porsche." I think she parked next to a 996 or something like that, and when she got out, the woman in the 996 got out and in a really snobby tone something like "don't hit my NEW Porsche with the door of your OLD Porsche." The woman then walked into the store. I guess the tone rubbed his wife the wrong way, and the store was VERY close to home, so she jumped back in the car and went home and traded the older 911 for their fancy, concours winning twin turbo. She then went back to the store and parked in the spot that she'd been in and sat in the car and waited. When the woman came back to her car, his wife got out and essentially repeated what the woman had said to her, something like "Please don't hit my NEW Twin Turbo Porsche with the door of your non-turbo Porsche."

Steve told it much better, but it was hilarious to me at the time (and still is).

I wish I had been able to video tape it from the start - it was very intense at one point! I was working out back on my latest deck project when I heard a loud "plink" on my neighbor's roof - I thought someone had dropped or thrown something on it. Very loud plink.

Then it escalated from there.

No damage, thankfully.

Here's one of the videos I made......by this time the hail has subsided substantially.....

Back from a 3 week Hawaiian get away, Big Island for 7 days and Kauai for a couple weeks.
I love waking up, meandering to the coffee pot and sitting out on the lanai to watch sunrise, Humpbacks breaching and early bird surfers.
Mmmm, Hawaii

Spent a full day at Volcano National park, walked the Kilauea Iki trail, crater rim trail and the Devastation trail... right at 10 miles on foot and 2 quarts of water that got returned to the atmosphere as sweat.
Sooo surreal!
