Thanks for the sentiments Gentlemen!

Life had indeed been ver ver good to me!!

I've had this ol Targa 20 years now, looking back I've had her off road a number of times... I do hope Rich will forgive me for a couple of the routes.
I remember one road in particular we had to drive a shoulder area and center strip on a climbing/hiking/logging access road to avoid being high centered.

So far I've avoided Pterodactyl poop, Bear biscuits, Deer droppings and Mountain Lion muffins... while driving at least.

Go for long walks in the mountains in this part of the world you soon realize you are not the only critter that uses the trail.

More old Porsche mayhem

One memorable trip up to the Mount Baker Ski area, (R&SEA3) comes to mind... we were making pretty good time and I noticed cars ahead of us were pulling over to let us by.

Such polite people, or they thought we were completely insane.
I prefer thinking it was the first option.

They wanted a glimpse of graceful excellence in its element.

I saw what looked like a big truck with flashing hazards and red white strobes coming up behind me today. It was not a fire truck, but I moved over in the right lane. It was a short flatbed truck hauling a dozer, with a siren blasting.

Since when do dozers have emergency calls?

Forecast for Mt. Baker is 5' of snow Sunday-Tuesday, the ski area on Mt. Shuksan also gets amazing snow totals...

I need a return visit.

Out with the old and in the the slightly newer.

The old, 2000 XR650L. Fantastic bike, just too heavy for the riding I want to do.

The 'New' an '08 XC-F 450. It won't be as much fun at freeway speeds, but I do that so rarely I don't think I'll miss it.

My last drive up to Baker Lake was great until it wasn't... thought I was having transmission issues of some kind on the way back, motor was running warm so I nursed it back until I got into town and it was close to home when something let loose in the engine.
Barely got it home, cushioned by knowing a new to me motor was being built and I wouldn't be leaving the car out in beer bottle range.
More on all that soon, fresh thread material...

Current endeavor

Looks like you are in the good hands of Dr Walker!

The Ospreys have been back for a few weeks. There is a lot of pressure on nest sites due to the increase in Osprey population. We will refurbish the current nest site and establish another one next year with a neighbor.

This nest is high in a tree at the edge of the marsh. Could have issues. I mow this section much to the dismay of the current tenet.

Picture of the nest area/tree with one of the pair coming to check me out:

If you look closely you can see an Osprey:

It was windy yesterday when I took my dog for a ride/walk. One of the pair in the nest just hovered over me. Wing form is amazing to me. The Osprey is not moving forward:
