I had a similar problem. High RPM miss. Turned out to be my coil which would fail once it got hot, but at first only at high RPM's. Later it failed completely, resulting in very low , to no, RPM's. Got a buddy with a known, good working coil you can swap in for debug purposes?

Sorry been in a part of the world where electricity is a luxury, internet is a blank look...

Aldata is a commercial research, data service used by professional shops to troubleshoot and obtain spec's for any make or model of car... in our case, Porsche Mercedes BMW.

sorry it too so long to get back to this forum.. I'll answer the rest of the reply's shortly.

thanks everyone for the help, flames and other comments..

how did this get to underwear comments... I was out of touch 15 hours and wow what a turn!

Yah know Jag, to be honest, you are such a whining, smartasss SOB I don't know why anyone would spend their own time offering you any assistance. I know I wouldn't. Oh wait, I haven't. I plan on keeping it that way. Sorry we all didn't jump to your beck and call when you demanded it.

I had a very similar problem with my '87 Carerra. Only difference was it didn't feel sluggish to me at lower RPM, just acted like the rev limiter was set at about 5300 RPM.

I did everything Jag did except the AFM and I also replaced the fuel filter and checked the pressure regulator. None of it helped.

Here's the bad news. I never fixed it. The problem just went away. The last thing I did was replace the coil. I went for a test drive - still missed. I parked the car in frustration for a month or two. The only thing that happened is the battery went flat. Charged the battery and drove it - no miss. It's been a year and the miss hasn't returned but I wish I knew what the problem was.

If you fix it, please post the solution.

Jag - Kung Fu was about a Chinese martial art. I am in Japan. Your arrogance is only suprassed by your ignorance. If you can't afford your Porsche, there is probably a good Toyota Tercel out there with your name on it.

Well, you didn't take my advice and let it go away. That's the difference between someone who messes up and someone who is messed up. You kinda showed your ass on that one.

Just found this thread. I have a real good idea of what his problem is, in fact I'm almost sure of it, but this guy is such a stereotypical Porsche-owning prick that I'm not telling!
