I think last Friday's episode was pretty lame. How do they never hear of this peace group, and all of a sudden they are sabotaging ships, and doing scuicide bombings? Plus how bad is the Galactica's security that they let this known crminal off the ship with a nuke? How could they not search the guys bag first? I'd have to say worst episode so far.

This one kinda reminded me of the "filler" Babylon 5 episodes, 99% of the shooting inside the station. That series worked best when space battles were involved... Same w/ Galactica IMO...
In response to above, I'd say Baltar as the Vice president probably could leave with a nuke easier than most people. However, it's pretty clear the president now remembers seing Baltar with #6 now, and that he's gonna have to run... Or be caught and escape... We'll see... I thought the abortion idea also came out of nowhere. Why all of a sudden did they want to kill the baby ? Pretty lame - she's been pregnant and in jail for a while now... Still the best show on TV however ! |

This was a "get the series back on budget" episode. No fancy sets, or on location shooting.
But, yes. They are setting the stage for Baltar to leave, probably with the blond, to join the cylons. I do think the 'reason' is pretty lame. The Letter was dead on. I think it would have been better for the doctor to have come up with the blood cure, etc. When did Baltar become a biologist? I thought he was an IT guru...

I liked the episode. I think it was all about Baltar.
As for the letter, yes, it is a lame excuse--but I think that how angry Baltar became speaks to how unhinged he is becoming. I think it was intentionally lame to highlight this. It also appears that the corporeal Number Six is "damaged" because of her treatment on the Pegasus. Look what happened when Baltar tried to kiss her... I wonder if the president will have any side-effects from her blood therapy?

Did anyone catch the "Baby" commercial for BSG during the show?

Oh, is anyone else downloading the podcasts? There's always tons of hints in there that give you an idea of where the show is going... -Z.

Oh, and AFAIK there was nothing in the scriptures about the "dying leader" being cured miraculously, she still should be "dying" and not reach earth. So, is the cure temporary ? Will she need more cylon blood ? Is there an Admiral/President love story cooking now ? (hope not)
It is pretty hard to imagine people whose worlds have been decimated by the cylons seriously think that peace is the solution, and sabotage the ammo, but then again people ARE stupid so that's kinda believable ;-) Integration with Earth folks should be easy ;-) |

Then again, scifi has always been a good venue for people to voice their opinions on current affairs, so it's not a bad thing. Back to last Friday's show: the title of that episode was: Epiphanies. Note the plural. I saw two epiphanies: 1. President Roslin's realization that Baltar has something to do with a known cylon 2. Baltar's realization that he's doing to have to do something drastic to rise to power. Were there others? -Z.

I missed it again! i take it they back burnered the Pegasus for another episode? Is it still tagging along with the fleet?
I find the of human Cylon sympathizers to be EXTREMELY unrealistic from a psychological percepective. A suicide bomber cylon sympathizer is even more incredulous. I'll have to download the podcasts.

My ex-wife used to pull her hair straight into a pony tail and put glasses on and it had a similar effect. It is the basic approach used in most Sandra Bullock movies and any of the 'ugly girl becomes beautiful' movies.

I think we may have hit on why Ms. Bullock married Jesse James...

1. There's what?...50K people in the fleet....so basically a small town. And yet there is this cabal of criminals that kidnaps little girls presumably for perverts??? I doubt it. They would be found out and killed before too long...probably by an angry mob. Anyway it was good to see Billy Duke. Maybe they'll bring Jesse Ventura on board next. 2. The meeting between Baltar and Apollo in the Pegasus commander's quarters was un-neccessarily confrontational. So much so that it didn't ring true. 3. And why was Apollo inestigating this anyway? Don't both Pegasus and Galactica have Masters at Arms? At least Galactica did during last year's court room episode. 4. The Dee/Apollo thing also had an unsatisfactory resolution. They could've played that much hotter, for many more episodes. 5. Apollo has to pay for sex??? He's a good looking jock/hero/fighter hot shot and the commander's son. I don't really see that happening either. Plus at the end when he save Siobhan's daughter from a life as a child prosititute he get's lectured by the mom. Gee....uh....a heartfelt thank you would have been nice. 6. No Starbuck. BTW: Did anyone notice how thin Michael Hogan has gotten?

If they wanted to dirty him up a bit, they should've made him a womanizer. A real lech. That would be interesting. Watch him dodging his various ex-conquests...Dee...Starbuck...the Pres, etc. See how the women react to each other. Could've proven highly amusing. BTW: Also, no Chief/Boomer/Helo plot in this episode. None of the actors so much as made an appearance. The more I think about it, the worse I think this episode was. Could the show be jumping the shark? I guess next week will prove whether or not it is jumping. Back to back sucky episodes is not a good sign.
