Ok, my thoughts from last week's episode (Resurrectio Ship, Part II):
The ending would have been so much better had they not spoiled it in the trailers! Wonder what Baltar's secret hiding place for the Pegasus Cylon prisoner is? Is this a lead-in into Baltar leaving the humans and joining the toasters? Will Sharon's child hold the key to curing President Roslin? What's up with Apollo's wishing he were dead? Wonder if he will steal Anastasia Dualla from Billy? Discuss... -Z-man.

I thought Apollo was in love with Starbuck?
I also thought that they said the Cylon escaped? What happens when Roslin dies, and Baltar becomes president? The XO on the Pegasis seemed a sympathetic character initially, but he came off as a real hard @$$ the last episode.

Why was #6 so opposed to Baltar helping her "clone" ? Intra cylon rivalry ?
Why is Apollo so bent on dying all of a sudden ? How long until we "lose" pegasus now (this show is after all not called "Battlestars Pegasus and Galactica") ;-) |

As far as his "You can't rape a machine" comment, well....you can read a lot or a little into that. On the face of it just a statement of fact. Cylons are machines. BUT you have to think that he is just de-humanizing an enemy as a way of rationalizing the abuse. De-humanizing an enemy is what you would do with a HUMAN foe, BUT how do you de-humanize something that isn't human..or even a "living" being? Mentally, you could go round and round with this.

Another potential plot hole that has been bothering me:
Wasn't the colonial fleet destroyed because the Cylons hacked the navigation software on all of the ships? How did the Pegasus not fall prey to this flaw when encountering the Cylons?

The cylons viruses were designed to act on Colonial defensive (navigation?) systems. They had an easy time of it thanks to a "protocol" written into those systems by Baltar and Six. After this was discovered in the mini-series, the crew of Galactica rewrote the programming to exclude it and the new programming was uploaded to the Vipers...I assume they mean Apollo's MK ? as it was the newest. No reason to think that the Pegasus crew couldn't have done the same, even though they never say they did.

The Pegasus had it's computers offline during the attack. They did a "Blind Jump" to get away from the fracas. This was revealed in the 1st Pegasus episode.

Borders has both Season 1 and Season 2.0. And if you have an iPod video, you can purchase the first two episodes of the second half of the second season over on scifi.com. That should bring ya up to date! -Z-man.

** }{arlequin - Caution - spoilers from the 1-20-06 episode below **
Comments from last Friday's thread: 1. I guess we can eliminate the possibility of Baltar being the first human/cylon hybrid. When the doc was doing all of that testing on him (when he thought there was a cylon implant in his brain back in season 1), I am sure they would have detected the same blood anamolie found in Sharon's fetus' blood (that there's no blood type). 2. So, is the leader of the cylon sympathizers movement a human or cylon? The way he was talking with the corporal Number six sounds very much like he's a toaster. And what about the woman with the gun guarding the corporal Number six - is she a cylon or cylon sympathizer as well?? 3. Anyone else catch President Roslin's reaction to Baltar just after she was cured of cancer? She looked like she was ready to point to him and oust him! Further comments: Baltar is getting crazier and crazier. I really think they are setting the stage for his departure from the humans and eventual rise to power amongst the cylons. (If they follow that theme from the original series) I think James Callis definately plays a terrific madman driven to power. The way he turned from being a snug and happy about the way he put the pieces together between the Sharon fetus' blood and Pres Roslin's cure to his utter contempt towards her after reading her letter - brilliant! Comments, opinions? -Z.
