I agree with mr old beemer bike guy, the four are not Cyclons.
While there are some factors that could point to them being Cyclons, one of the main problems with all four being Cylons is: -the Cheif could not have had a child Now you could also argue that they are based on the Lucy Lawless character saying she was so sorry to the 5, was she talking to the Tigh model, for removing his eye. I think that it is more likely that the four are somewhat gifted, you know the Chief grew up very religious. Again, the writing was pretty vague, and I think done on purpose. On an unrelated note, was Starbuck in an old Viper? It looked like she was, but then when they zoomed up from the nebula to show earth, the two Vipers they showed were both the newer looking ones.... I think it was great episode, and I am intrigued with the Baltar thing and where he will end up. Bill |

Yup, that was good but weird... Also, my suspension of disbelief was kicked in the 'nads again (kinda like the hummer scene on caprica)... I mean, if those guys had "greek" gods, it would make sense that their language would be closer to our ancient greek than to modern english, no ? So the connection with a somewhat modern Dylan song seemed kinda pulled out of a hat... I wish they had made up a song instead...
The 4 "new" cylons ? What made them think they were cylons though? what do we not know ? If it's just the fact they can hear a song, blah di blah, maybe they can pick up that signal for some other reason. But one of them said "it's like a switch was flipped inside" or something... What was it, did they remember they were not human ??? And the starbuck thing, boy, that one's gonna be a tough sale - let's see what they have in store to explain it away. But 2008 ? That is cruel !!! Sounds like we're getting close to the end though. One more season, final season ? |

I always pictured the BSG civilization as having found earth far in our past...our Greek gods came from them...but wasn't that 3000 years ago?

Exactly... Which is what kinda bothered me with Dylan...
Then again maybe The 12th colony found earth thousands of years ago, and galactica is going to arrive in our timeframe. But either way, how the frack do they know the words to an ENGLISH song ;-) |

Well, in the original story, Starbuck gets lost on a planet. and sends the infant of a woman (who was also on the planet) off the planet to be found by the Galactica.
The infant turns out to be Dr Z. (pre-teen Genius) that leads them to EArth. This time around its been stated over and over, its starbucks desitny to lead to earth. Since Most broadcasts world wide have english content, Its a no brainer that all alien races will know english when the come to visit (conquer).

I think it's not until 2008. Just in time for me to have completely lost interest in the series. Way to go SciFi.

From BSG news website
SCI FI has renewed Battlestar Galactica for a fourth season, commissioning 22 hours of "the best show on television." Production will resume this summer with an eye toward a January 2008 season premiere. The special two-hour prequel event Battlestar Galactica: Razor will air in November 2007.

It does seem stupid, to be 9 months between seasons.

Maybe I'll be able to pick it up again, but honestly I've sort of lost interest now given how much time has elapsed.

Interesting (at least to me) factoid:
The word "diamond" is derived from the Greek word "Adamas" which means "invincible". Three cheers for the Admiral.....

I'll pick back up and watch again, the season opener will be a keystone though as to how MUCH I get back into it. If it's awesome, wont be too hard to dive back in again. If it sucks, well......
