I'm glad you did Jeff. Personally, I've never listened to rap, and it looks like I have been living in a cave. Many years ago I remember the cop killer language, but that's about it and your quotes prove your point.

Imo, there is just as much room for going wrong while going to a public school. The difference with home schoolers, is in general they tend to come out much more creative. Somehow a good deal of the imigination is not lost. Very often social pressures drive kids to think being creative is bad, and that they should fit in. A lot of adults who went to school often just say "I can't keep up with you" when I start going into something in detail.

But anyway, heres a 3d image I created as 9-10 year old.

Of course, from today I see lotso f things I could of done better, such as creating a sky, and a few other minor tweaks. But not bad realy. Especialy for the mid 1990's.

I'm thankful that back in the 80's, we had bad haircuts and androgynous bands - nothing I'm overly embarrased about and that I have to hide for a job interview these days.

It will be interesting to see how the spawn of the hip-hop/tattoo/piercing generation will rebel against their parents. Probably with desk jobs and Mozart.

The "Cop Killer" song that made media mainstreem was NOT a rap song but a Death Metal song. The lead singer was is known as Ice Tea and now plays a cop on a TV series.

The media went nuts over a RAP SONG that was actually a Heavy Metal song, sort of a side band Ice Tea put together.

I find these girls music as offensive as rap music. Both spew hatred and racism.

I agree with Jeff its funny that its newsworthy. The last decade has been full of racist rap songs.

There are a couple of groups referenced that actually sold quite a few records, so this isn't super-obscure stuff that was dredged up.

I remember the cop-killer brouhaha. It's ironic the writer/singer now plays a cop on TV. I also have a friend who has done business with Dr. Dre, and considers him one of the most well-spoken, intelligent people he's ever met.

But pandering to the 'thug life' devotees with the kind of lyrics you printed kinda makes their true selves irrelevant. I don't buy the 'it's only entertainment' excuse.

Maybe this stuff didn't directly contribute to racial violence, but it seems to me to be far worse than the Prussian Blue lyrics I've seen.

Songs like "Sacrifice" — a tribute to Nazi Rudolf Hess, Hitler's deputy Fuhrer — clearly show the effect of the girls' upbringing. The lyrics praise Hess as a "man of peace who wouldn't give up."

To be able to properly respond to this would take way more time than I have, but to answer your question on why two perfect blonde tween girls spewing hate is news, first, their perfect "looking" poster girls for Ivory soap and second, they are the ONLY ones of their type singing about white pride. I guess I've tuned out rap culture. I've caught a few pieces iwth Bill Cosby whose been slamming blacks with a personal discipline and responsibility message recently (love it) but "kill whitey" language in rap songs isn't news perhaps because it's so prevalent (your posted quotes confirm), even "expected" by the media, which is sad, but moreso troubling about the future of our Country.

That two perfect blonde girls are dredging up the evil of Hitler, that's news.

I think the racist language in rap music is (a) a minority of the point of it, and (b) a byproduct, rather than the point of the music. Those two chicks don't seem to be able to say the same thing...

I want to be clear - I don't condone the "kill whitey" crap in rap, and it saddens me that people buy it (my guess is that listening to it makes them feel badass).

I watched the whole show when it first aired on TV. I equate it to cult like brainwashing. I am still confused about their views. Why are they so proud to be white? I am usually proud of things I accomplished and worked hard. Why do they think they are better than other races? If hitler was so perfect, then why did he fall?
They were playing a video game that showed someone in a KKK robe walking around killing people of color. The whole thing was f-ed up. Hate is hate no matter what race you are. And I'm not sure they fully understand what thier mother is teaching them.

Up until a year ago I would have agreed with you 100%. Them I hired my receptionist. She is 75% Black and 25% Japanese. Her mom is black and her dad 1/2 Black 1/2 Japanese. They are divorced and her step dad is black. Her real dad lives across the country.

She has always lived in an upper middle class enviroment, attended one of the top 20 public high schools in the USA and has a full scholership for a 4 year degree in which she is studying to be a RN.

She is a total racist and does not like white people. Why she works for me is beyond me although she has told me that because I am of Italian decent I am O.K. in her book. I imformed her that Italians can be the biggest racists of all and she should hate me.

She has ponndered why there is no Maclom X day like a MLK day. She hates cops especially white ones. She feels inner city black youths are lucky to have street gangs to join so they have a sense of belonging and a "street family" to associate with.

I have her sitting ina room with a guy from rural Kentucky, the conversations are eye opening.

Why does she feel this way? My guess? The rap stars tell her to. Listen to that garbage enough and you will believe it. Grow up on it?
