D, the monitors and cables work. I know this for a fact.

The main problem with pulling new cables, is that I am not sure that I can ever get the new cable to come in or out of the hole under the cabinet - which cannot be moved. The cable was run when we had access to everything. As it is, I've had to leave old cables in there and just shove them as far out of the way as I could, because I can't get access to that area anymore! It was not designed and thought out correctly 8 years ago.

The ****ing cable is fine!!!!!!! It was working fine with the old VGA cables. My prob;em is that the radeon cards have DVI-D outputs. DVI-D is pure digital. The stupid adapter that is sold will not work. It simply cannot convert a digital signal to analogue. This isn't theory, it is fact and I can prove it.

Dave, what about a DVI-a adapter? We used to carry them at radioshack and had no complaints.

This thing cannot convert a digital signal to analog. It's impossible.

Ok I got the problem now. Only digital outputs on the card....

Why not swap the card?

The card accepts DVI-D only.

I know this, Sidney. Again, it's DVI-D only. You cannot plug a DVI-A or I adapter into a DVI-D.

It's just really annoying that these adapters are being sold, when it is impossible for them to work and that they are being sold as if they will.

I caught that now... So it seems you have two options, get a converter, or a new card right?

Converters are $upwards of $200.- Cheaper to buy new monitors. Though, I found a converter at HP for $40, but now I can't find it again.

you cut the end of the cable. tape the shizzit out of the end connected to some cable or 200lb test nylon and use that to pull the new wire. OR you figure out a new route. really, this is simple stuff.

D, I've been doing this a long time and I also know the layout of this office. Running cables is the last option. Really, it's not so simple. there would be no way to cut the old cable and use it to pull a new DVI cable through. The end will not fit through the hole.

I found a possible solution.
