Well, I went to the farmers market. It was pretty good. I went by SGS Motorsports but most of their Porsches were in the garages and the mechanics' cars had gone home. Before that I saw a beautiful Irish Green early 911 and started to follow him but he was out of sight too quickly so I turned back to continue my mission.
I wandered around not seeing much that interested me. Saw a guy friend from school. Then I got to the Cal Poly club activity section and there was a CP Wheelmen booth there. There was just one person (girl- with blue eyes ;)) there at the time so I talked to her for a while. I put my name and email down on the list and asked about mountainbiking trails, etc. Name was Catherine. Then some other dudes and a girl showed up and I was introduced. Looks like I will (finally) be joining the campus cycling club.
Then I was walking back and saw someone with a Treffen 2011 jacket on and got to talking with the guy- has a longhood 911T and a Speedster. In town for the southern Treffen this year. They do two of them a year now apparently. Not an R Gruppe but wants to be. Asked if he was in Early S but said no, he's just got a T. I informed him that you don't need an S to join. Anyway, I chatted with him and his wife for a while. They are camping at Laguna Seca for the ALMS race and he gave me his card so I will call him and try to meet up when my Dad and I go up in a few weeks on the Saturday for the race.
Then I was going by the produce stands and saw some nice looking produce. I was looking for some nice salad greens though. I finally saw some that looked good at the Cal Poly Organic Farm stand. So I bought some. There was a cute girl- brunette + blue eyes :)- over by the oranges but I bought the greens from some guy. I was going to walk away but I asked her where the farm was. She said Cal Poly and I said, but where on campus... She did not realize I went to Cal Poly at first. Anyway, her name is Alex. Ag. Bis. major. I said some stuff about wanting to be able to do more non-engineering activities but no time, etc. Especially next year with FSAE. Informed her about that. Said it was nice to meet you, she reiterated, etc.
So I rode home with my head of lettuce and here I am. Good experience. Thank you Dave and everyone else for suggesting it.
She was quite cute. :) I will have to try to make it over to the farm area sometime. Why does it seem there are lots of pretty girls in Ag. Bis.?
