Hahahaha! :D

Thanks for coming over today, D. The poster was very kind of you. It'll go up in the garage by next week. It was good to grab some lunch. Thanks for the help with the Duck, too. Shoulda replaced that regulator/rectifier last year.

You are very welcome. :) Were you able to get those two other wires connected to the positive terminal?

Howdy Dave, you getting used to left coast time again?
|
Sort of. I am getting up earlier. I should be asleep, but working on pix from the trip.

I wish I was still asleep

Me too Rick.......
Instead, traffic time |
Good morning folks.
My "yard boy" dropped by yesterday to mow my yard. He will turn 80 this year. He uses my mower since it is set for the proper height and he does not have to haul a mower around. My dang mower would not start. It is a 1993 model Lawn Boy M series. It has no spark so I guess the CD module has died. I have to go get it today and install the dang thing so I can get my yard mowed. Hopefully in another few weeks I can mow it myself again. |

Yo. Four days to go...

Yo, Jim and the rest of you. Rick, you are rubbing off on me. This work stuff is for the birds. Thinking I need to simplify and move to a quaint cabin in the woods somewhere. Live off the land.
|
A friend of mine got tired of the regular grind. He became a park ranger for a small park in the middle of nowhere. He thought it was great for about a month. Then he got real tired of the long drive back to town for groceries like coffee and bacon and eggs. He decided civilization was better after a year.
|
So, are you telling me I should think before I leap? He he. :) I think I am actually more used to a simple life than a complicated one. I grew up poor. Didn't have much. And all this stress and constant grind makes me think if it's worth it. Just thinking out loud. I want to make enough money for my boys to go to college so they can have the opportunity to choose what life they want but other than that, I want a house, food and clothes... And access to the outdoors. Pretty much happy then. A Porsche would just be icing on the cake. :)

Yea, and then you need enough money to retire. That retirement nest egg is hard to build up.
|
I have been contributing to my 401k since I first started working at 22, 15% of my salary. I don't make a ton of money but time is on my side, right? As a nurse I am lucky as well since I don't have to "retire" fully. Can work 1 day a week if I wanted to. And most likely, I can find a job anywhere, even in the middle of Alaska. :)
