Yea, a good nurse can pretty much get a job anywhere. Kinda like a plumber, or AC repair in AZ.

I was thinking once my boys grow up and out of the nest, I might do traveling nursing again. Where they pay your housing too. I can be a nomad. :)

sounds like fun. yeah that nest egg is tuff. I'll probably be stuck working till I die.

NAAA, just wait for the kid to be a big rock star and then let him support you!

He just needs to write a good song that the young girls love. That is all there is to it. :D

I lost it all about ten years ago, I had to start over. I was planning to semiretire in just a couple more years.

Jim Richards 09-24-2012 03:48 PM

Our hope is to retire in a little under 3 years. We might go a bit longer...we'll see. In the meantime, we're getting our house in SoCal slowly renovated.

BTW, MNF is on tonight, and I hope my team pulls out a win. My wife made guacamole, chips are on standby, grilling brats shortly, oh yeah, anybody thirsty? SmileWavy

My old boss says that he "took early retirement at age 92". I hope to get to retire before that age. I really really hope I am in as good as shape he is if I manage to make it to my 90s. He was a licensed pilot at age 90. He can still pass a flight physical. He has so many hours of flight time he does not care about flying anymore.

College room mate's dad retired early. After two months was forced back to work by his wife. He was driving her crazy at home all the time.

Also in college looked seriously into the earth ship life style as an option. Where your house is off the grid and you produce as much of your necessities as possible and just do selling crafts type stuff to fill the gaps. Decided I liked being able to get some ice cream, or a bottle of pre-wax cleaner at 3am within 5 minutes of home.

Another day, another new design to play with...ho hum...

Retirement - Bah! Never going to happen. They'll paint an asset number on my arse and I'll become a static display ;)

Is that like donating your body to science fiction?

Outback Porsche 09-24-2012 04:47 PM

Ha, suppose.

Although it's more like comical than Comic-Con

Seriously?? They are the dumbest birds out there. You can sneak up behind them and club them with a stick.

Rick V 09-24-2012 05:10 PM

Now that is funny!!!!
