It'll be fairly easy to tell if they do it right......and they're now aware that I no longer take my car back without inspecting it on a lift.

Besides, none of the techs have replaced this harness before which means they haven't learned cute little shortcuts to potentially screw things up....

A day of yard work for the daughter and the sil. Feeling old today. Silly bugger me - back at it today.

It's all for a good cause though. Cleaning up the yard and installing a cubby house for the little yard ape.

I really like that photo of us and the Milky Way. My mate has also given us all an A3 print each. My copy will get framed up and be hanging on a wall very soon.

Evening Y'all. Spent my day with a real headscratcher on one of my sons cars. It has gotten personal now

Whenever I have a electronics fault like that I get to the point that I start reciting Ohms Law. The poltergeist soon gets the hint that this has now got serious, and moves on.

time to bust out the scientific method, rick.

riddle me this: why did the oil leak on the ducati stop when i changed the oil? really, it stopped.

i decided to put it back together while i waited for the special tool and some minor parts i'd be replacing, as the leak was just annoying, not critical. in the process, i had already dropped the oil, so i replaced the oil filter and topped it up with rotella T 15/40. i drive it for a couple of days and check where it was leaking. no oil leak.

Rotella is designed for diesels, it has a lot of seal conditioners in it. It is excellent oil

huh. so, the seal conditioners may have sorted the oil leaks at the engine covers?

Either that or you forgot to put the oil in and therefore no oil to leak out. Did you look and see if you left a paper towel in there somewhere?

i did a paper towel count and the number matched afterwards.

there is oil in there, as i left a note over the ignition button that there was no oil and the battery was not hooked up. and the oil check window shows oil.

is it going to bother my ducati, running a 'diesel' oil? what about the 951? i am sick of paying nearly $10/qt for oil.

Not at all, and Rotella is also designed to not foam. It is great oil in a 911 for track use. When I ever get off the M1 wagon in Lanna Rotella is what I am going to use

good to know. slodave turned me on to it. i was looking at a few options and dave piped up on facebook.

after i change the main seal in the rover, tomorrow, rotella T is going in. the 951 is getting its annual oil change, soon, (way less than 3000 miles) and rotella is going in her, too.

Insane fuel dump. and it not the fuel system, changed the injectors, regulator and assured free flow on the return line.
Ign is up to spec and the car is in time. Long story but it makes no sense and has now gotten me a little pissed off.
I will not be beaten by a Volvo

I'll bet I don't. I just rewired the car about a year ago, the entire EFI harness. I am not really sure what is going on with it and I have never seen it before. It has so much fuel in the oil that it ran past the front crank seal and the car will only run when the injectors are unhooked. We stopped messing with it until the kid gets the oil changed.
Yes I have an injector pulse and not a constant on

Got peed on again. Big time. Fortunately it was just hands for me, but all over the freakin' place for him and the surrounding furniture.
