that's a good story, Glen. And yes, my funky eye cells brought me to Pelican. I even remember when I joined. It was late at night. I was doing night shifts IV pump classes at a small hospital in Grand Junction, CO, a town that only had one stop light at the time. I was following the advice of a friend who said if I was considering restoring a Porsche, I needed to join a car forum. So, I did a search on google and read all about Pelican and signed up. I didn't even know about off topic until I had been on Pelican for some time. Once I found it, I never left.

I remember your first post. You were afraid a bunch of guys would "Eat you alive" and be mean. I think you can say the Pelican community welcomed you.

The folks have been looking for something sporty, and mom likes a 5 door hatch, so this seemed the best solution! We bought from a local dealer, but he was going to have to transfer it in, so dad and I volunteered to make the road trip. There's some nice flat empty roads between here and BFE Kansas!

250+ hp and a very good suspension setup. Lots of reviews say it's one of the best handling cars available right now, at any price.

Well spent about an hour helping the son replace all the plastic fuel lines on his 940. Ethanol struck again, but in this case never again. He is now sporting new over sized steel fuel lines. Tell me again why this is a good fuel and good for the environment?

Ya... We are going to pull it off, but I don't know how much cooling that will open up. A big bunch of that grill is just cosmetic, and doesn't actually have holes in it. I think it will still look a bunch better though!

Ethanol sucks because you use just a little bit less energy to make it than what you get out, but if you have stainless steel fuel lines then you can run E85 or, even better straight Methanol (with some castor oil to give it some lubricity) then turn up the boost as high as the head studs will take. It is good because more power. Bad part is your range is cut in half with methanol because you need to use twice as much of it compared to gasoline- but it is actually better in terms of CO2 emissions even with the extra fuel. And methanol is easy to make- just ask a blind moonshiner.

Oh we cut the boos off at 23psi constant and it spikes to 30psi. I don't think the kid needs any more boost than that
