Since I am the treasurer of our local PCA region I am the one that accepts everyone's check to go to our local Christmas party. A few years ago we were real happy to have 50 people total. This year we are having dinner at the 50th floor restaurant at the Devon Tower. The room we are using is Limited to 64. Right now we have hit our cap of 62. That is the biggest turnout our club has had since the 80s before the Tulsa area split away from us.

I had to look up huevos rancheros? I think I'd like them - a lot :D
I love mexican food too. I often make chile con queso dip and chicken enchiladas. |
It sounds like you guys have a great PCA region, Glen.

I'm ready to turn into a pumpkin. Night all SmileWavy

(Old geezer voice) Back in the good ol days we had THE biggest regional event of ANY region except Parade. The Tech sessions were amazing. To have the very top Porsche factory employees come talk to our region was great. I slammed beers with Tony Lapine and Hanz Metzger. Hanz taught me to NEVER try to keep up with the German drinking beer. We drank every St. Pauli Girl beer in the place. I could barley walk back to my hotel room. They gave away several titanium connecting rods from the very engine that won Le Mans. Or the rear view mirror from a winning Le Mans car. I never won any of them. :( I got to know Bruce Anderson and had a long conversation over dinner about which 911 to buy. No doubt he had the same conversation with thousands of PCA members over the years. PCA national worked REAL hard to kill our event. The did not like the fact the we had a close personal relationship with the factory and did not have to go through national officers. The year Helmut Bott came to talk was our biggest year. We gave Helmut a Indian head bust that is wearing a full War Bonnet. He kept it on his desk at the factory. I have a statue just like it for my time serving as the local region President several years back. I have seen the board completely turn over several times. I am the geezer that will not go away. |
The current board succeeded in running me off. Guess it's like the old saying, any group that will have me as a member…
|
Richard, that entire episode was certainly never intentional. The the BS politics of a group of men that have different ways to do things has run off more than a few members over the years. I hate every bit of it. The newsletter seems to always be at the center of the arguments.
We would love to have you back in the group. You can just sit back and relax and enjoy the work of others. It could be fun to complain when some other volunteer spends 20 hours a week on a project and needs 30 to finish it right. We have all spent hours working on something and only get complaints. |
I'll just wait for the next turn over in active members, err board, same thing. "Tired of hearing about all you do for the club" and "Don't care what you think" are not anything I want to be involved in.
Pic of the testing done to design the headers I am getting. http://www.zipbang.com/928gts/headertest.jpg Good thing I haven't gotten new injectors for the cams yet. To match the cams was needing to upsize the stock 19# to 24#. With the cams and headers need to go to 30#. A guy is sending me info to have an x-pipe made that was designed to make the broadest power band with these headers. Curious to find out how all the pulse timing sounds, cause it sounds pretty good right now. Also being told after some fueling and ignition mapping I should see about 400rwhp. Was also asked about testing a new crankcase vent system. It replaces the smog air pump with a vacuum pump and plumbs up to keep a vacuum on the crankcase without using the intake as the source of vacuum. Idea is that it will improve oil flow at higher rpm and keep aeration to a minimum. |
Boss just ordered pizza for lunch the day before a holiday who wants to bet I get asked to work the weekend?

Just heard on the Street Racing show about Oklahoma City street racing.
One mullet short of a trailer park dream. |
Evening Y'all.
The book keeper decided she was going to feed us today, Holy cow she mush have been up all night cooking, it was awesome. I think most people stayed home today because traffic was non existent, the ride home was actually peaceful. I remember Charlottesville was like that when I moved here thirty fove years ago. Friday all hell is going to break loose so I just enjoyed the drive and listened to some Floyd as I eased down the road |
Sounds like a great day, Rick. It was real quiet in my "office" today. I worked from home. LOL! I'm going to be in the office on Friday. DC will pretty much be a ghost town, so it should be real pleasant. I'm not going to go anywhere near a mall until after the new year.
|
I would love to stay away from the mall and wally world but I work in that environment
|
Ack!

well I put in a full day 7-5 sucked big time, most people either didn't come in or left at 12. Me and the boss we were still working away, until dark oclock,
