Forget the light bill, it's all the work to put them up (and take them down)

azzarule 11-30-2013 03:44 PM

It was a bit (read effing) cold outside this afternoon putting up the lights.

azzarule 11-30-2013 03:44 PM

The levang is supposed to be awesome for any size barrel with particular effectiveness for short barrels...... $40 or so shipped if you can find it......brownells.com was in Stock for about 2 hours last night......short of that, the troy claymore is readily available at around $60 and seem solid.....Daniel defense makes some nice options as well at good prices, but none of them fit my need

Rick V 11-30-2013 03:49 PM

Yeah, like I said that much time in that much cold (read f that)

what do you think of polymer mags, joe? i'll start by saying i like having metal parts (remember our conversation re. pro mag sights vs. magpul). that said, i've never used any p-mags. i have several aluminum bodied magazines and the one i got with my AR from PSA.

Punkin Pie for desert!

Watched the Punkin Chunkin on National Geographic on thursday night so funny, the gene pool isn't too deep with those people.

I believe they are very similar, although we don't have infestations, they are just there all the time. You grow up looking for them when ever you're in a place they are likely to be - close to everywhere but they do prefer the darker places. It's the times when you find them under the seats of your car, is when they catch you by surprise. I've been bit once - stings like buggery.

I don't have any experience with them yet, but the ones I picked up seem very sturdy. I picked them up because they were $ 10 per and I figured why not....Most people seem to like them

morning Jeff

azzarule 11-30-2013 04:03 PM

we get lots of Red Backs in Canberra, they love around the window frames, and in the sheds. But compared to the Funnel Web they are pussies

Morning Azzy.

A warm one too - 41C

The poms didn't do too well yesterday. The young Aussie scored 250, put the poms back into bat and they only made another 30 runs before stumps. Officially it was declared a draw. Good to see both rugby teams had a win last night.

poop, I forgot about the Wales game. Over here you have to really keep an eye out for the games on the TV.

azzarule 11-30-2013 04:18 PM

lol Dee.

The Funnel Web can kill you in minutes, another one of those creatures you don't want to meet in Oz. They like to hide in Gumboots and shoes and clothes. And they are very aggressive.

my irish friend, that lived in australia for a couple of years, claims he was chased up a flight of stairs by a funnel web.

Evening all.

My only productive thing today was to get the oil changed on the Elky. I always lube the front end as well. The lube is the messy part.

I changed to Brad Penn oil this time. I had been using SWEPCO and liked it but it is just pricy. The Brad Penn is 1/2 the cost and just as highly rated by the pros. That Brad Penn is green. It looks like thick anti-freeze. Just strange looking stuff.

RKDinOKC 11-30-2013 04:54 PM

Is there anything profitabe you can do with dead leaves?

When I did the tranny, transfer and differentials in the landy, lubemeister sent me an additive that turned the lube fluorescent green.....it was weird...
