The wife wanted to eat out so I splurged and took her to Sam's for hotdogs. $3.25 for two of us to eat is big time fancy eating.

The bad news is she insisted we do some shopping while we were there and it only cost me $155 to get out of there.

Dude, a front-wheel-drive Isuzu Elan? What is wrong with you? You could have had a Boxster or a Miata!

(sorry if that is a bit harsh)

We aren't saying that.. We are just saying that marrying two of the worst brands reliability wise doesn't make for a good car.

joe, that is quite the step down from the jaguar. just saying.

however, i am sure that it will be more reliable than the jaguar. positive, in fact. again, just saying.

the death of the jaguar was painful for me, as that car was truly beautiful and you seemed to love it.

the purchase of this car seems rather out of character. but interesting.

how much torque-steer is there?

And I bet an Elise would handle better. It may be a Toyota engine, but that means it is reliable, and the engine is in the right place and drive goes to the correct wheels.

Yeah, it was a bit of a jump, but that's what life is about.....and I'm enjoying the heck out of it. As far as torque steer....none....The car goes where you point it.

You know it!
The development history of the Elan is pretty interesting. It's a esthetics are a Peter Stevens design, suspension was an engineer/ pro driver collaberation.

I'm still feeling it out as far as ability, but from what I've seen so far, the handling is incredible.

Oh yeah, boost is fun!

Street legal go-carts are a blast. I loved driving mine...

Yep, it needed more power, 0-60 was 9 seconds when tuned up good, but was a blast anyway.
Driving around town obeying all the speed limits felt like you were going 100mph.

Oooh, that's pretty!

I need to swing by the local auto parts store, grab some coolant, oil, filter and brake fluid. The Elan came with new braided stainless brake lines.....in a box in the trunk

Ugh, my day today started with replacing the radiator in the Disco....that sucked.....bad

Of course, after finishing and using the Disco to take my pup to the dog park, I dropped the top on the Lotus and went for a spin
