How do you quit a week?
Can you just skip to next week or repeat last week?

Good morning folks.

I got to spend some time in the garage doing stinky work. I replace the transmission oil. I use the Kendall 80-90 and it does not smell as bad as the oil for the rear end of the Elky but it stinks. Working with the garage doors up and the back door open for cross ventilation is preferred. It was 72 degrees and very plesant.

One of the first jobs I do on the 911 with the new scissor lift and it is the transmission oil. I had to put some wood on the floor to get the drain pan to sit level to catch the oil.

I replaced the fill plug with a magnetic plug just like the drian plug. The drian plug had very little stuck to it. The fill plug had the most.

This is after a transmission rebuild 5,000 miles back. I figured there was going to be some metal stuck to it. I am glad it is out before the trip to California. I will likely check it again after I get back.

Nice work, Glen. The lift is certainly making your life easier.

So, do ya mind if I swing by with the garage queen and borrow your lift?

Sure, just bring a strong buddy and you can load in in your pickup. Bring a REAL strong buddy and a heavy duty pickup since it weighs over 1,000 lbs.

I am going to put it in a pit real soon. Driving up on the boards and having so little clearance is a pain. With an 8 inch deep pit the lift can be below ground and out of the way.

When you prepare your pit for the lift, are you going to pull a Jack Olson and make the top of the lift (when in the down position) blend in with the surrounding flooring?

Jim, you can swing out to AZ for a weekend and use my lift. . But I've got no plans for a pit at this time.

I have a concrete floor so the answer is sort of.

This is the same lift I have. This is not my garage just the way I want mine to work. The cover is supported by the lift and if I need a place to work on the lawn mower or any other project I have an instant work space. If I want to lift a car I just move the plywood under my wife's car to get it out of the way and lift my car.

This is my garage and I can raise the roof to the point it could smash the roof of the car into the garage door opener.

Jack Olsen has an awesome garage but I would not trade him for my garage. Mine is bigger and has the bathroom. I don't have the desire to put down a fancy tile floor. My garage is oversize 3 car and it would be silly expensive to tile it.

I hear you on the height glen, I could get the bug much higher if it didn't have the roof rack. I have to be careful when I have it in the air as the door can only open a few feet. I always hit the lock button on the opener once I've got the door open as far as it will go. Just so someone doesn't punch the opener and smash the door into the car
