Oh, and since they are a customer to yet another division of our company, I can't just tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine, which is what I'd really like to do... |

That picture is gross. The dude is wearing long pants and a jacket and worst of all a TIE.

Good Friday morning folks.
One of the old timers from the early days of our PCA region is in town. They moved to Austin 20 years ago. I sure wish we could get him back here. He was a dynamic regional President. Very organized and a hard worker. Anyway they are in town for a couple of days and we are going to dinner tomorrow night. |

I don't do those things anymore. At my first job I was a press photographer. I spent a LOT of time up at the state legislature in Montgomery, AL. The legislature decided they needed to wast more time and passed a rule that anyone on the floor needed to wear a coat and tie, including the press. The press room all went to thrift stores and bought some of the ugliest sport coats and ties on the planet. We all look like Herb Tarlick from WKRP. We tried hard to make the ties not match the coat. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1405082476.jpg It was the 1970s so UGLY clothes were in style. The legislature finally changed the rule to exempt the press from a tie but no jeans or t-shirts. I learned so much of how politics REALLY works. It is disgusting. "Laws are like sausages, it is better not to see them being made." Otto von Bismarck Very true. |
Herb Tarlick is my fashion muse.

I remember my Mom bought me some slacks as a Christmas present that looked just about like that coat in the pic above. Those pants had HUGE cuffs that were 3 inches tall.
Now imagine brown and yellow plaid slacks with 3 inch cuffs. And that was the STYLE! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...ys/rlwhore.gif I think I wore them a couple of times to not make my mom mad. All I wanted was normal jeans. Those were hard to find because they all had bell bottoms or worse the Elephant foot. Dang the 70s were a tough time to find normal clothes. She also bought me a lime green Leisure suit. Oh the huge manatee. |

We have an architect at work that decided that there was no need for any plumbing in our new laundry facility and that the doors didn't need to be big enough to get the equipment through. Sadly, our CEO has hired him a few times since that incident and it is always the same level of incompetence. Our board is not happy.

The only good thing about the 70s was it was before AIDS, herpes and Hepatitis. The era of free love was great for a horny 20 something guy. |
The only good thing about the 70s was that it was only 10 years long.
|
Well the 70s did make my new 1974 914 for $6,752.
It does not seem possible that in two months that will be 40 years ago. |

i got you all beat. When in junior high i had two pair of Psychedelic Peter Max Levis bell bottom Jeans. The psychedelic print design would light up under a black light. Tried surfing for them and this is the closest I could find to the print...
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Oisv-Jae2J...71502238_n.jpg I was really stylin with those and my Monkees guitar logo sweat shirt and converse tennis shoes. They were all clothes my grandma gave me for Christmas that year. I had asked for a motorcycle. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_VakYJSeOlX.../Picture+4.png Bet those jeans would be worth a fortune today. |
