Brings back unpleasant memories of my old Triumph Spitfire. Multiple u-joint failures over a two year time span, starting shortly after the new car warranty expired. Hate. British. Cars.

Remember when the rear u-joint went out on my full size GMC 4x4. Pulled the drive shaft off, just pulled the shaft out of the rear of the transfer case. Slapped the cap off a spray can over the rear shaft hole in the transfer case I had in the back. Threw the shaft in the back, locked the front hubs, shifted to 4 loc, and went along my merry way with front wheel drive.

It quit eating u-joints when I put a wedge mount that angled the rear diff up a little reducing the angle on that rear u-joint.

There is a center carrier bearing on the rear drive shaft of the Cayenne. It has a rubber mount. If you don't replace that rubber mount every 60K it eats the carrier bearing. The mount is $100, the bearing is $500. Deferred maintenance costs big monies.

I need to replace the right outer front u-joint in Peggy, she is doing a little clucking, the only saving grace is I also need to replace one of the ball joints on that side as well.

Just did the same on the F550. Drivers side was good. Put two new wheel hubs on as well.
Knocked the nut off of one of the bad ones to see if i could service the bearings. Under the nut it said.....warning do not attempt to disassemble........sounded like a dare to me but i couldn't rig up anyway to press the hub out.

morning y'all!

Steve has gone out for a ride on his one man powered machine with a friend, and I am getting ready to cook them brekkie when they get back.

Tonight we are heading to Sotterley Plantation to get scarred by a bunch of actors walking around in the dark, sounds like fun. When I asked Steve if he was coming he immediately said , "no!" I said "Yep he's coming", hahaha what a big girl.

I don't go to spook houses. I do not scare easily, matter of fact it is very hard to make me jump but when you do I swing. Last boo house I went to someone managed to scare me by grabbing me from the side, he got elbowed in the mouth and was out before he hit the floor. I love the fun of the season but it is best that I don't go.

I just don't understand the whole haunted house thing. It's not like everyone going thru isn't expecting someone or something to jump out at them.

Went to visit my nephew and his friends when he was in college. We went to an all night Elm Street, Freddy Krueger fest at the local theater. It was winter and we all had big winter coats so were able to sneek in a LOT of beers. Every time the music got tense sounding like something was going to happen my nephew, his friends, and I would scream. The girls in the row in front of us would jump out of their skin. Into the third movie the music got tense we screamed and all the girls immediately turned around and screamed back. My nephew and his buds about jumped out of their skins screaming even louder. I laughed so hard I almost cried.

Stijn!!

Good morning folks. It is perfect weather here today. I will go find a project in the garage. I may flip a coin and to decide on which car to tinker with.

Rick just had a friend over and she was talking about the Psychiatric Asylum up in Philadelphia, she said it was a great place for the tour around. When shall we go?

Morning guys. I made the haul across no mans land yesterday. 14 hours of windshield time in my new ford. Glad it's got comfy seats!
