Morning Y'all
Seems being lazy is the theme around here this morning, I have been up for almost an hour and I have not heard the first car, truck, drone, submarine, just birds. I love living in the country, even if the country is a neighborhood out in the sticks

Couple days ago me and pepper drove to Wataburger at 4am and got us some hamburger and a shake. All the way there, and all the way back we only seen 3 cars on the road. It's 6 miles from my house to the Wataburger.

Being able to get a hamburger without getting out of the car at 4am is what I like about living in the city. There used to be 24 hour auto parts stores. At one point even one of the GM dealership kept the parts department open 24 hours to compete.

I can however hear the drone of the city at 4am in my front bedroom. It's weird, that bedroom has no insulation in the attic above it. It is also 5 degrees warmer in that room than the rest of the house year round, even in winter. It is the farthest from the HVAC. The warmer in winter part confuses me. When my brother with MS lived here he stayed in that bedroom. I ended up putting a window AC unit in that bedroom and he ran it year round to keep the temp at 70°F. If it got over 72°F he would lose his ability to move.

My BIL lives way out in the country and uses a noise machine to produce the same kind of drone noise only louder so he can sleep. He grew up and has always lived way out in the country.

It's funny but city folk say it is loud here at night during the summer, and it is but it is a different kind of noise, birds, frogs, bugs, and all manner of things that go bump in the night, just not a whole lot of man made noises. In the wintertime, you actually have to strain your ears to hear something.

Last night at 4am there was a couple of frogs that were breaking the noise abatement restrictions I'm sure. They were freaking loud!

There is also a great horned owl that roosts in the top of the cottonwood tree in my back yard. I can hear it hooting late at night.

During the day, If I don't have the TV or anything like that on, I can hear the westminster chimes from the college clock tower one mile away.

It's interesting what you get used to. Penny, and Camber, my other goldens used to always bark well before anyone got close enough to the front door to ring the door bell. Pepper hasn't started that yet and because I am not used to listening for it I often don't hear the door bell. If she doesn't start soon, I'm gonna have to get a new louder door bell.

This morning...horns, sirens, yelling a-holes. At least my dog got to chase a few squirrels in the park.

Nine years ago today we moved into our downtown condo. We've been here longer than any other place we've lived. Hit me, I'm stupid.

There is a condo complex near downtown OKC that was builded in the early 80's. It's still really nice, but looks like some sort of weird prison apartment complex. Gots a big ol brick walls and securty guards everywhere.

When I was in HS there were a couple of classmates that had body guards to keep them from getting kidnapped. Would think following some HS kid around all day would be a real drag of a job.

Our little town is pretty quiet at night except for the trains that rumble through, honking their frikkin' horn.

On a clear night in the summer you can hear the roundy round guys racing at the local track and sometimes the street racers on the highway a few miles away.

I grew up in the country and we could always the frogs and other critters.

I was born in Killyadelphia, and every time I move it is further and further away from people and development.
I hate cities

I never had to worry about being kidnapped, or assaulted, robbed, none of that stuff. It made my sister so mad that I got freedoms that she never did. I had to ask her if I looked like an easy target and what the chances are that someone would chance it for a couple of bucks. Back when I was roaming the streets, I was a freeking monster, much heavier then I am now and it top shape, being a defensive lineman in H.S. I had to stay bulked up and in shape, yeah I wasn't an easy target.
Now I am just heavily armed, it's easier to maintain

Good morning folks. The storms from last night are gone and left nothing but water around hear.

Guess what the next round is coming. We were going to drive to Enid to visit the MIL. We decided to stay close to home. I will sneak out shortly to go to the El Camino breakfast.
