I take it you haven't checked belt tension often?
Thought about skeletonizing the covers so you can check tension without removing them?

Heck, I ran my last Duc without belt covers, just had to zip tie some stuff safely out of the way.

nope. i let the shop do the belts last time. i don't have the $400 to let them have a go again. i'll probably be checking the tension in about 500 miles. the old ones were pretty loose.

anyway, belts are on. that was pretty easy, for sure.

now for new front brakes and an attempt to get the forks to seal back up.

edit:

holy hannah, this $5 tool got my forks to seal again: http://www.sealmate.net/seal_mate_instructions.html.

I used to check my belts every 2 weeks or so for tension... It doesn't take a lot out of spec for a belt to jump a tooth and destroy that engine.

Back from the family get together in my hometown. We had a great day even if it rained ALOT.

My niece was going to bring her new boyfriend around to meet the extended family.

My sister, little brother and I thought it would be funny to introduce ourselves talking like an exaggerated voice of Thurston Howell III. We were laughing so hard my sister started crying. We chickened out when they arrived, though.

My sister was diagnosed with early breast cancer a couple of months ago so it was nice to see her having a good time and enjoying life.

Family usually gets together, didn't hear from them. Don't know if they cancelled due to wet weather, or didn't call because there's no Mom for me to bring.

Morning

I rang the boss this arvo to let him know I'd like one more recovery day at home, he said to take two more. I said I should be right by Thursday, but he insisted. I told him I'd go play golf if I was feeling better. He said, have fun then. So glad I have a cool boss.

Good Mon..... er Tuesday morning folks.

Whew, I got my morning workout done. I have been working out with a group of guys in the neighborhood. Apparently someone shot a video and put it on YouTube.

I went to the garage to change the brake fluid on the 911 and figured it would be a good idea to double check the fluid I used last year. I found the old can of ATE blue marked with last year's date and knew it was time to use the gold this year. I went to the shelf where I keep my new brake fluid and dang if some sneaky government agency or extraterrestrial aliens had not stolen my supply.

The only other possibility is that I was wrong about the supply and we all know that never happens.

I do still have two new cans of ATE blue sealed in plastic bags. Those can wait for 2016 and 2018. I guess in 2020 I will have to make do with just the gold.
