Well, before the flash thunderstorm, it was 96° with heat index of 116°......after this crap, we've gotta be pushing 120° for heat index....

If you've got time to sit and watch your steaks cook, your overcooking them.

Back in heat, humidity, and the stench of politics. Tomorrow, I'll probably start counting the days until the next work-cation.

Like my steaks medium. They were fairly thick sirloin cuts. Total grill time was 6 minutes. Thermometer on my grill on high shows 475°F. Season with a hint of salt, thyme, garlic powder, lots of black pepper, and drizzle with olive oil both sides and let set for 10 minutes before grilling. As soon as they come off the grill slather with butter and cover for 2-3 minutes, the time it takes to fix a simple salad and plate the steak cut fries.

Thanks Rick. It was actually pleasant outside when I walked the dog. I guess I'll take one day at a time...

Pepper just woke me up by saying "I want out"!
Well...she was nudging, pawing, and pulling on my arms trying to get me out of bed and I didn't move until she said it. But she didn't just bark, she said "I want out".

We are trying to figure which movie to go see. I am sure it will be a thought provoking intellectual movie. We are figuring Terminator Genesis or Jurassic World. Something that will really make the viewer think and ponder.

They are both good iMax 3D movies.
Terminator does have the dumb robot humor and a fairly good plot twist. It's thought provoking intellectual content questions the human reliance on smart devices. Jurassic World is more dinosaurs gone wild and does have a few good links to the original Jurassic Park. No real comedic moments unless you enjoy dinosaurs gulping down people. It's thought provoking intellectual content is along the lines of the ethical treatment of animals. I liked Minions too though I can't think of any thought provoking intellectual content besides the question of the minions actually being Hostess Twinkies come to life? I also liked the movie available on Cox On Demand titled Robot Overlords. It's thought provoking intellectual content questions the wisdom of relying to heavily on a centralized data source and the dangers of that network being hacked.

Terminator- gotta go see it still
Jurassic World- great graphics, some neat tie ins to the first movie and Jimmy Buffet has a brief cameo with margaritas in both hands......and.....ROOOAAAAAARRR....and ****. Minions-another I need to go see.....I friggin love minions......when I saw the minions packaged Twinkies the other day, I squealed like a little girl... |

Tried to watch Max the dog movie, but the Kodi link was to the movie Max Payne instead, not that I didn't enjoy Max Payne, but seen it, and Max Payne was not the heart warming dog romp I was expecting.

My dog is mental.....watched a TV show with several doorbells being rung...she almost lost her mind.
There's this mega sized sprinkler head in the golf course that got misaligned and is now spraying the door frame for my patio sliding glass door...I can see the swelling in the frame....looked at the sprinkler head last night and it won't adjust by hand..... Maybe I'll just 'play golf' with it. |

Pepper tries to attack the Liberty Mutual commercial logo. She comes running when one of their commercials air, then sits and waits patiently for the yellow background and then tries to attack the white statue of liberty arm holding the flame. Have to be alert and call her off before she knocks the big screen over. She does NOT like that arm holding the torch.
Pepper hasn't started alerting me to visitors yet. She has to see you standing at the door first. Camber and Penny would go off as soon as someone came on the property. Was kind of lost for a while, I can hardly hear the doorbell when the computer or have the TV loud watching a movie. Guess just got too dependent on the dog proximity alarm. Figure about the time I upgraded the doorbell Pepper would start assuming the duties.
