Evening Y'all,
Yeah I am not a huge fan of the 7.62, I mean in a pinch it'll work but I am really becoming a fan of small very very fast rounds. I looked at border patrol, I'm too old I looked at pimping, but I would be getting high on my own supply, I looked at becoming a professional vagabond but I like to shower every day. There is however a light at the end of the tunnel as of today, and I hope it isn't a freight train. My son has been looking at houses since he rents and it tired of that racket and he can't find anything in the school district he wants to be in so he may buy my property and build a place, that would mean I can drop the price of my house to fire sale pricing and do away with my last debt, the mortgage. Beth and I would buy the next house with cash and I won't be a mechanic anymore except for my own stuff and helping friends. Speaking of helping friends, Jim you get that rebuild kit for the VW seat yet? The boss was in a rather condescending mood this morning and after the third time he was 5hitty to me I stopped what I was doing, told him to check himself and leave me alone, I am not sure if it was the realization that he was being a turd or the realization that he was in range and my fists were balled up. he gave me a big project and stayed away from me for the rest of the day. Well screw the treadmill tonight, I am going hiking.

Well I got the video back from the CD release show. Not sure what I'm going to do with it. It took over three hours to down load from a drop box and is over 32 gigs in size. So much for the grandparents getting a copy.

It is not hard to drop the resolution and compress it a lot. YouTube does a lot of that automatically.

The fellow that mows my mom's grass charges a flat $25 an hour... Her riding mower and her gas. He takes 5 hrs and makes $125 per week.

I was going to cut her grass for nothing but she insisted on paying.
She paid me a nice amount last fall to clean and organize her garage. She's done very well with the stock market so I am going to talk about using some of the money from the 911 sale to invest. I hate to have it just sitting in the bank not making us anything.

our new house has about 4-6 acres of lawn, and the owners caretaker asked us for 600 a month to mow it, aaahhh nope, not this little black duck, I have retained the services of a friend who is going to do it for 200. Still alot but better. There is an old ride on mower at the house, but it doesn't run very well, no compression apparently and we have been directed not to touch it. mmmm Me thinks the caretaker has been lining his pockets from the poor old owner who is in an aged care facility on the west coast, and has no idea how much it should cost to mow the lawsn with a huge ar5ed mower.

Not yet, Rick. I've been juggling to many things lately and most want to bounce on my head.

When I was 8 and started mowing Dad bought a riding lawn mower for me to use on our acre. Remember mowing the entire acre with the push mower only 3 or 4 times before we got the rider.
I only did two other yards that were big enough to use the riding lawn mower. One was a large lot at the company I now work for that has now got buildings and partking lot on it, the other was the large lawn of a guy that I mowed 3 other houses besides the main family home with the big lot. The only reason I took on the two rider sized yards was because of the other mowing they were associated with. The company lot I charged $15 for the 3 hours it took to mow the lot every other week because there was one hour of weekly push mowing I got $45 for. Years later a co-worker started mowing the company lawns and it took him 6 hours of push mowing without the lot. Told me I lied to him about being able to mow it all in an hour. At the end of the summer he apologized and said he could see how if someone really worked at it they could get in done in an hour. The large residence I charged $25 and it also took 3 hours every other week. I only charged $7 for each of the 3 other family houses because they only took me 20 minutes each and I mowed them every week. I much preferred the smaller lawns that did not require a riding lawn mower because I could get them done so much faster and make a lot more money for my time. I remember meeting with the guy that invented the shopping cart and bidding $40 to mow his yard. He said I was too rich for his blood because he could get a crew a Mexicans to do it for $25. Told him to hire the Mexican because in the time it would take me to mow his yard i could mow 6 smaller yards for $7 each. I made a deal that I only charged $7 to mow if they let me mow their lawn every week whether they thought it needed mowing or not. The going rate was $15 a lawn. And most people wanted their lawn mowed every other week when it got taller. Once a week it only took me 20 minutes to mow and edge, if a lawn went longer it would take an hour or longer to mow. Had a savvy relator that had me mow houses he was showing. I mowed them twice a week for my $7 per mow to keep them looking just mowed. He had another guy that kept the properties legal and didn't mow nearly as often. Told me the other guy thought I was crazy for mowing so cheap. Got more than half my lawn jobs from neighbors that saw me mowing a house every week and would make the comment to me that the guy must be rich to have his lawn mowed every week. After I told them how much I charged, but required them to let me mow weekly whether they thought it needed mowing or not they would have me do their yard too. They said they were spending that much per month getting their yard mowed every other week and it didn't look nearly as nice as getting it mowed weekly. I would tell my neighbor kids that were mowing my yard about my lawn mowing and how I made more money by mowing more often. Only one so far got it and mowed my yard weekly for half. The others kept mowing every other week instead of taking less to mow weekly.

When I was selling my parents house with the acre I sold off the old riding lawn mower and bought a Toro Wheel Horse that had one huge blade instead of the deck with 3 blades. Went from a couple of hours mowing and it look nice, to just 45 minutes. With the 3 blades if you went too fast it would leave grass taller between the blades. The single blade I could mow as fast as the darn thing would go and it looked perfect.
If I still had that mower I would mow 3 acres for $60, but only if I could mow it every week so I could mow in the highest gear.

I mowed the backyard yesterday, it took less than 15 minutes
![]() The front yard is still recovering from the frosts last month, it'll be a few more weeks before it needs mowing.

Interesting, googled and nobody makes a riding mower with a single blade more than a 32" cut. The one I had was 39" cut and went 10mph. It was FAST! Was told 39" was max to keep the blade tips from going supersonic.
