I went to the grocery store at lunch. The lady bagging the stuff was likely in her 50s. She had a pronounced stutter. That got me to thinking about it and she is the first woman I have ever seen with a stutter. I have only know a few stutters and they were all male. I wonder if stuttering is more a male thing like color blindness?

In the end she did her job just fine and she is earning a paycheck, better than many folks.

In O o o older pa pa people there are 4 to 1 male to fa fa fa , fa fa fa, women.

Watched some show on turret's. Three of them got together and took a small RV to the beach. I can't imagine just walking up on a group sitting around a camp at the beach cursing and twitching. Probably laugh so hard I would not be able to breathe. Turret's on Holiday!

One of my buddies in Hawaii was another Air Force brat. He had a bad stutter in groups of people or if some authority asked him a question. The ultimate worst was a teacher asking a question while in a full classroom. He would just stand there and make noises that were not words.

When we were at his house or my house building model airplanes of just chatting like teenage boys do he could talk with minimal stuttering. I think he finally got some good speech therapy after that. Like all my other childhood friends we each moved to different states and lost track of each other.

Sorry, I know, I have a uncompassionate sense of humor. I just got this pythonesq picture in my mind of a group of people sitting around relaxing in beach chairs, drinking umbrella drinks, and randomly yelling and cursing for no apparent reason.

Sidney gots hiself an ol bettle. He's been thru it so imagine it runs like a top.

That window AC puts me back in the day of my old 64 Ford lawn moving van. Had a swamp cooler on the roof. Pumped ice water from an ice chest thru it. Cause it din't need no compressor be chillin all day long. Kept the van plenty cold for cooling off between lawns. Not to mention the ice cold drinks.

Morning all.

Monday has gone away.

My brother drives a 1954 Bug as his daily driver. His coworkers are always asking why he drives a 60 year old vehicle. He replies the car does not know how old it is. He can fix most problems with a screwdriver and a pair of vice grips. He has had it for 37 years and can't blame the previous owner for anything. He drug it out of a farmers field and the engine was gone and a family of rats lived in the car. The farmer only sold it on a bet that my brother could get not an old tractor running again. The tractor had not run in years. He fixed the tractor and got the bug for $100. His wife hates the bug. If she used it to go anywhere it breaks down and she ends up walking. She has not driven it in years. He has never had to have it towed home since he got it running in 1978. His other car is a 74 VW Westfallia camper. He has had that since 1976.

David, that has to suck. Hopefully the new owner will see your value as an employee and continue that job.

Digital photography has killed my former career at a commercial photo-lab. It was rather terrifying to see the signs of reduced business until the time the place just shut down. I went to work at a competitors place but it has the same struggles with the digital mentality of "good enough" to do for the print. I was lucky to find my current job. Digital is changing this place as well. The new state of the art digital aerial cameras were announced. Only 1.2 million to get the hardware and software (not counting the airplane!) to get into the digital world and that is just insane money.

The UAVs or drones are here. They are great for small areas and super high resolution images. They for sure will affect our business.

I'll never meet the new owner. The company is large enough that I'll just be a number. Speaking of numbers word came down today they want to migrated all our person cell phones to their corp plan. I think not.

Yea, my personal phone is just that, MINE.

If a company wants me to have a corporate phone, fine get me one but keep yer mitts off my phone.

My wife was very careful with her cell phone number and work related calls. Only friends at work got her cell number for non work call.

Been a crazy week here. Thuy's dad went to the ER and then admitted yesterday for the second time in a week. Fairly certain it was a stroke both times. First time he became lucid again and started refusing treatment. We explained to his wife(Belgian) that in America she is POA and in cases like this needs to step up. Hopefully they find what's been causing it this time.

Oh boy, I get knocked the F out today and they cut on my eyeball. Hope it goes smoothly. Even better I hope it improves my vision. Going to be almost blind until the patch comes off.

Had a cell phone for personal use a long time ago.
Brother got pissed because he tried to get ahold of me one Saturday, I was busy (flying RC). He tried to ***** me out until I informed him is was my personal phone for my convenience. (had a watch pager send me a page, then it looked important enough to pay for the celular call I called back.) Brother didn't try paging me. The next Monday I received a company provided smart phone. Seemed silly to have two since I was required me to have it at all times. Kiilled personal phone. Bothering me or privacy has never been an issue. Have a company extension that forward to my cell. Use it for my only phone and have no problems giving out the number. I like the Night feature that only rings if you are on my VIP list or call more than once during night hours. Do have specific ring tones for contacts I answer, others I answer if I feel like it though I usually just answer it.

Sid,
If you are interested I can dig up my list of vitamins and supplements I put Mom on after her stroke. Recovery Doc liked it enough he put them on her med chart when she was in recovery so they would make sure she got them. From what I found patients that took them were recovering 46% faster and more completely. She recovered almost 100% after her first stroke. Problem was her stupid old ass Doctor kept her on the medication that was causing it (Stroke was the first side effect listed). Couldn't get her off that med until I changed doctors after her second stroke. By then enough damage was done that even though she recovered, she slowly fell into post stroke dementia (very similar to Alzheimer's but brain fade is much slower).

Luckily, my company hasn't forced me to be in contact at all times, by providing me with a company issued cell.....yet. I am the only prototype tech we have, so I could possibly see it in the future.

Got the company phone just because the president wanting to get in touch with me was my brother and wanted to ask me a computer question. Told him about the pager thing, but evidently he didn't was to mess with it.

The cellular system isn't nearly a good as people think. With a text pager, even when with the same cellular company as my phone could not forward the page to my phone. Back then the phones didn't do text messaging that would accept pages.

Back then it was cheaper to get a pager then use my cell only for calls I wanted to make. They charged for all calls both incoming and outgoing.

Even today freakin Verison can't put my name on my caller ID. It just says "Cell Phone OK." Probably something to do with the business account.
