Raining here as well. No thunder storm but a steady rain all day (so far). We need it.
Got the mowing done yesterday......haven't even stuck a toe out the door today.

Mrs. Carrera's mother is coming to dog and house sit. So the pantry, the fridge and freezer, behind and under the fridge and washer and dryer is all undergoing cleaning.

I guess all of that is WAY better than paying a kennel to keep the dogs.

Yeah, frames are relatively cheap ($800 aftermarket with an MSO) but the HD book time on the swap is pretty friggin steep.

Busy week for me coming up.

Doing an interior painting job for Aunt-in-law tomorrow.

The rest of the week we are going to be removing the kitchen cabinets from the widow's new place in preparation for new ones to be installed. The old ones will go to my FIL's until we can figure out how we are going to do our kitchen with them.

I like doing things like this but glad that I don't have to rely on them to pay bills.

Back to Monday.

I did finally get to wash the El Camino yesterday afternoon. For the last month or more there has been rain in the forecast at least every few days. No point washing a car if it is going to rain a two days.

In one week we will be on the way to Seahawk's place. I am looking forward to that. He says he has picked out a good seafood restaurant for dinner that night. That sounds good!

And so far in the route planning that is the easy day of driving. The first day is horrible I-40 for 850 miles. Then from Maryville, TN to Lexington, VA via several stops.

Joe, that sucks. If you were closer you could take it to a local guy that would straighten the frame for you. He has done several bikes that way and the one he rides was purchased at an insurance auction.

Wayne, best wishes for your family.

Congrats to Conner.

Richard, you should be careful teasing your brother like that. One day you will get abducted by aliens and you will have to learn spanish.

Glen, how many miles round trip does it look like?

I have a memorial service to attend tomorrow. Emily and I are playing since Patrick played with us and was instrumental in her taking up bass guitar. We were doing Beach Boys songs and Patrick couldn't be there all week so he taught her enough she could fill in that week on his bass. It was so big on her she had to sit to play it. He was 6'5" and she was 10 years old and under 5' and was entertaining to watch her learn from him.

I have not done a full calculation, but my SWAG is 5,000 miles. Google Earth shows three routes just to get from home to Jay Peak. They range from 1,650 to 1,690 miles. That will be just the trip home. We are going all the way to Bar Harbor, Maine. then back over the Jay Peak, via several stops. We will be driving a LOT over two weeks. Almost every day during Parade is a driving tour. It will be about as many miles as we can do in two weeks of vacation.

Morning all. Well Connor didn't win an Emmy but had a lot of fun meeting the local news casters. The wife and I had an interesting night being all dressed up and not knowing anyone. Saw a lot of people we see on tv but no one we know.

Joe, sorry to hear about the bike. Glad you weren't hurt Back when my bro lived in Atlanta told me not to drive anywhere near a bike because people there run them off the roads and/or hit them on purpose.

Brent, Beach boys songs at a Memorial Service?

Yeah, there are some real maniacs on the road.

Hopefully the adjuster gets to it today. Once they do their thing, I can dig into it to figure out if I want to buy it back.

Richard, it was Beach Boys songs we were doing when he taught Emily how to play so yeah it will be fitting to play some Beach Boys at his service. Patrick is the one the service is for in case that wasn't clear. Sorry.

He was also a big Johnny Thunders fan.

Were you on the bike when it was hit? From your original post I thought someone hit it while you were not riding. Whatever happens the important thing is you were not hurt physically. The bike is just a toy. An expensive toy you did not want torn up, but it can be replaced. Just money out of your pocket which sucks, but it is not like a hospital visit.

Oh, it's a memorial service that is more like a wake.

Friend was irish and they did the real thing for his service. Had a single bag pipe play green sleeves starting at the casket and walking off into the distance till you couldn't hear it. Wasn't a dry eye at the service. Then they had a real blow out wake party where everyone got drunk and had fun giving toasts telling all the shenanigans he pulled or was involved in.

Niece and her husband owned a large funeral home they they lived in. A gipsy king had his funeral there. The entire large group of gypsies stayed at the funeral home partying, eating, and dancing for a week. They said it was their ritual to pay repects to the old king and ringing in the new king. Neice said they let them basically take over the funeral home and there were people and campers everywhere for the entire week.

I always liked what George Carlin said he wanted to do in his act. Have himself blown up while all his friends and family say "There he goes, God love him."

Yes, not a traditional funeral service, that is later in the week. He worked for the state in tourism. He had just gotten engaged.
