Noah930---I feel your pain!

My son has used the same backpack for the last 2 years. He ACTUALLY could use a new one but doesn't care.

My daughter got a new one a few weeks ago. New to her anyway because it was from Goodwill but with the tags still attached. She has 2 others plus a gymnastic bag and a bag for her baseball gear.

When I was in HS we carried out crap in a gym bag. The Walkman always went on top of books so it didn't get smushed.

Oh yeah, it's Friday!

TGIF folks.

In grade school back in the late Leave it to Beaver era no one had a backpack except for going camping. We just got good at carrying books in a stack with one arm. By high school I was always carrying a camera case back and forth to school. As a senior I carried a 35 mm SLR with three lenses and a Hasselblad with strobe that had a battery back that was the size of a loaf of bread and strapped to my waist. I had a 80 mm normal and a 150mm telephoto with two extra film backs. I had room in that case for a couple of books but it got real heavy real fast. By the time I was a junior in high school I also owned a 16 mm cast iron Bell & Howell movie camera with two 400 foot film magazines, and a zoom lens. That sucker paid for my 914 but did not get carried to school except for one occasion.

I never had a backpack except for Boy Scouts for a year. At Porsche Parade they gave out backpacks as the goodie bag at registration for years. We use the backpack from the 2010 St Charles, IL parade to haul the lap top to and from the airplane and the Hershey 2005 backpack is used for my electronic gear on vacation. I have many different computer backpacks from Porsche Parades.

Glad you are safe Sid.

We are supposed to get storms today with heavy rain and wind "events". ???

This weekend our town is having a car show to promote Flint's "Back to the Bricks" big car cruise. We'll probably walk up to the square to check out the cars tomorrow depending on the weather.

Had a backpack in scouts and did sevaral 50 miles treks with it. Compared to backpacks for hiking etc, it was a nothing more than a canvas bag with straps on it. Horrible by today's standards. Same thing with my sleeping bag, too hot unless it was too cold, and heavy, horrible. And our tents were all heavy floorless canvas. It is a wonder we survived back then.

Had a computer backpack/breifcase for years...have since switched to messenger style computer bags. Currently use a Booq brand. Pepper chewed the shoulder strap for it. Called Booq about buying a new strap and they sent one free. That was nice. Each bag also has a registered serial number. Not sure why though.

Our kids have Jansport backpacks. Lifetime warranty. Jacob had a bag from Lambeau field but it is more of a collector bag for special occasions. Our daughter doesn't care what the other girls have because "they talk about crap like One Direction and stuff" so she doesn't have a high value of their styles.

My backpack from college days wore out a few years ago finally. I carried the cables and FX pedal, capo, odd stuff for the guitar in it so it still got used often. Now I use one I got free at Spiceworld a couple years ago. One year was a satchel, couple years it was a backpack. Don't remember the others but it is always a bag for all the papers, swag, whatnot.

Morning all. My oldest use two back packs in high school. Both till they wore out. The youngest on the other hand carries about 50 pounds of crap and splits the seams. I think he is on his third one now and has 3 years to go in high school.

Dernit. The transport guy that dropped off the audi to the seller yesterday is going from SF area to Houston and doesn't want to come as far north as OKC or would pick it up tomorrow.

If I flew there the closest I could get is San Fransisco for $600. That's 35 miles from Los Altos. And it is a 1700 mile drive back. So would take at least 2 nights lodging and a day of vacation. (they are buying back any vacation we have accrued but don't use by the end of this year).

They are changing the way they track vacation. Up till now we could carry our max vacation to the next year and accrued vacation throughout the year so if you didn't use any vacation by the end of the year you would loose a years worth. But if you had a year's worth from the last year you could take 2 years worth of vacation in a year. So to be fair they are buying back any accrued vacation at the end of this year. Then we are getting our vacation days for a year doled out on January first, and any you don't take expires Dec 31st and counter starts over on the 1st again.

I have not bough a different vehicle since 1995, when I bought my 911. My average is a different vehicle every 25 years. I have zero plans to replace the 911 or the Elky in the foreseeable future.

Now I might get the wife to replace her Infinity with a Cayman or a Macan.....
