AND, If you let them reset their own password it ends up being their name, or someone in their family and their birthdate.

Our compromised users lately have been sales people using Microsft Dynamics CRM. It tells you to Log Out and close your browser window. But they don't and get their login info jacked from the browser cache. To make matters worse we are going to On-line Sharepoint which is all browser access and even more likely to get jacked leaving all your files accessible, yikes.

We have only turned on Multi-Factor Authentication for the users that have already been hacked. Closing the gate after the livestock has gotten loose. I want to limit the IP addresses users can access our hosted microsoft from. But they don't want to do that.

Property Maintenance Slave...PMS?

Master Grass Cutter?

And there is the older term...Grounds Keeper.

Friend in Austin just got a new lawn mower. It's a Kobalt, and the same blue as my 928.

So, does Scott Adams call daily or weekly for his ideas?

Scott Adams?

Just got an email that a food truck that does coffee will be at the company in the morning from 7am to 9am. They want you to text your order. The link they give for their menu is only an about page and has no menu or link to one. Guess you order...uh...coffee? And they have you text your order because filling a cup just takes too long?

My brother in Tulsa got called by someone that said they were Apple. He gave them remote access to his PC, not the Mac I gave him. They turned off all his malware programs. They wanted to charge him $150 to install something that worked better. $150 is the amount he owed on his electric bill.

When came here for Easter after the event. Adding his laptop to my guest wifi increased the traffic so much my wifi could not stream. Had to turn my guest network off to watch my AppleTV. After he left my network traffic went back to normal. Don't run any network analyzing software as it hasn't been a problem. He was on my Cox Business connection and they call if a device on my lan is spamming, usually within a few minutes. Not a peep from Cox. My guess is the hackers have him running a VPN.

Also, while he was here I gave him access to my laster printer. He printed out 300 pages of stuff to put in a 3 ring binder. Told him he should make PDFs instead of wasting time and resources printing paper copies. He also wanted to print some 150 pictures of extraterrestrials, from web sites. Told him if I had known he was going to print 300 pages I would not have let him, and 150 pictures was too much. He said he had paper. Showed him I have not just a ream, but a case of paper and it was not paper it was the toner. Then showed him how much toner costs for a laser print, not that 150 pages of ink would not be expensive. Again told him printing copies was a waste of time and resources, just save the pics on his computer. He got glassy eyed like he didn't have any idea of what I was talking about.

Yea, it is nuts. We are due yet another freeze this weekend, and it is supposed to hit 70 today and mid 80s tomorrow. Winter refuses to die. It is the the really bad evil villain at the end of the movie, the good guy shoot him, stabs him, throws him off a building and he still tries to kill the good guy until he is vaporized in a huge explosion.

I thought liquid sunshine came in a bottle!

At least all the new snow melted off. The old snow is still around though.

Sunny and 60s tomorrow though!

I once worked at a place that was eerily similar to living in a Dilbert strip.

So, David, did you buy out the company so you could be the new boss?

Ha no. The old boss got smart and quit to go work some place else. I'd go with but it means 9 months a year over seas, NOT!

Our People & Culture department is full of female Dogberts, if you know what I mean.

They demanded P&C@ as their email address even though users have trouble emailing to it. If you list the email, when you click on it you only get C@.

Great job for a single person that likes to travel. Or someone that has a spouse that likes to travel. Or someone that has a spouse that doesn't like to travel and the person needs a break from said spouse.

Long ago one of my friends was looking for a job. She found one with a meat inspector. She was all excited about “getting to travel”. She was soon to change her mind about airline travel. And that was before 9/11 and TSA.

My recent airline trip to DC and back reminded my of why I prefer to drive my 911 on a long road trip and not experience that cattle call. I will be flying with the pilot again this afternoon. No TSA inspections. I will bring my bottle of water from home. If I wanted to take a gun I could!

Do not enjoy bus rides. Land or Air. Try to take noise canceling headphones and something to make me sleep until the destination is reached.

Well, unless it is a party/sleeper bus headed to a fun destination with a fun group. That's a whole nuther bus ride.

Aaaaaah make it stop!

We have had a password poiicy since 1990 when the company first started doing public email.
When I setup Exchange on-prem in 2007 and Exchange on-line in 2010 I set the password policy to match our policy so users could use the antiquated restrictions of our AS400 (cant start with a number, and not special characters)

We now have this new VP of IT. He says since we doin't have a policy written down, we don't have a policyl Sooo. The help desk guys have been ignoring the password policy when we reset their password (We set their passwords so we can enforce the policy). Now User's accounts are locking them out and they can't sign in no matter how many times they unlock accounts and reset a password that does not meet the policy set in 365. I remind them of the password policy and all they can do is say is "We don't have a password policy." I just say "Hmmm, we've had one for years."

And you thought the Dilbert comics were for entertainment.
