I see that the local school district is open again and kids are back in school. In early August? I guess it is not really that surprising. They take several weeks off for Thanksgiving to Christmas, a long spring break, and fall break, and every holiday known to humankind.

School in early August? That’s every kid’s nightmare.

Don't remember when we went back to school. Seem to remember it being in September, and being after my birthday on Sept 8th.

Yea, they just start them in school earlier to spend more money I think. They have an absurd amount of days off, and just stretch out the school year. Logic and common sense are not allowed.

In WI the state says no going back until after labor day, but not all the schools follow that rule.

I used to tell people that it was stealth paint, and it actually would be for the laser toting cops.

Glen, it is the shape, the coating and the paint to make the aircraft stealthy. The A-12/SR-71 used a special paint even back then to help reduce radar returns. The F-22 has had issues with the coating not staying on the aircraft when deployed in the mid-east.

This plane shocked everyone involved when it was found to perform significantly better than what they anticipated, loitering at 35k-40k feet with the sensors and radar on and no one knowing it was there:

No doubt the paint helps, but if they could just paint a B-52 and make it stealthy it would be black.

The shape is the biggest factor. And the exhaust of the engines.

The coatings under play a huge role also.

The original F-117 paint scheme was pastels to limit the ability to pick them up at night visually but the Air Force does not like pastels evidently.

I think the only way to make a B52, with the radar return of a small city, stealthy is to make it out of the same stuff as Wonder Woman's jet.

Evidently the color of the paint doesn't matter too much. The above craft is pretty light. Most likely because it was a daytime spy.

Fair warning. From experienced observation they have released the morons in force today.

Crossing town on the highway took longer than it would have on streets with all the lights.
Some morons were going 40mph blocking traffic. Passed 4 police that had people pulled over while being blocked.

So happy I work from home and don't have to deal with this every day!

My commute isn't bad, though come harvest season the combines block the whole highway sometimes. I should take the bike that time of year and I don't have to stay on the road.

The people that come here from the west side of town have a miserable commute that is longer than min and 15 miles shorter distance.

Actually if I worked on campus my commute would not be too bad. The route I take is 9 miles of light traffic on four lane road with a traffic light every mile, one school zone, and takes 15 minutes. Once there...would have to deal with all the office politics and would have to work in a cubical. Most important, would not be able to have Pepper around all day.

Picked up the Turbo today.

Wasn't nearly as bad as they thought. Evidently when the blower went out it shut down the compressor and saved the system. They thought the compressor died because it was getting power but was not running. The system must have some other kind of switch on the compressor. Pretty much what I was expecting, but just happy it costed LOTS less.

Interesting driving the first few blocks in the Turbo after driving the GTS for a month sure felt like I was driving something jacked way up in the air. And that is with the Turbo suspension lowered.

Phew, this working for a living is um, well, WORK!.

It was nice and toasty on the ramp yesterday loading up the airplane for the flight. Once we got to 5,000 feet it was 68 degrees and very nice. Then we had to land into the heat. Got done late last night with the data crunching. I upload the one giant 1.2 gig file to our FTP site and sent the ling to the client and I guess I broke the FTP site. I had to upload that file again this morning to a alternative site, as they had employees standing around waiting on the data. I guess we have spoiled them with fast delivery. Our contract says we have until noon today central time to get it all done and uploaded. It is done now.

Now it feels like Friday.

Feels like Saturday to me. After breakfast, I’ll spend more time tinkering on the 280Z. Nice breeze already this morning...maybe my spouse/crew is up for some sailing. Hmmmm.

HS friend of mine got a lot more sailing in once he got his wife trained up and made her captain.
He lives in and sails in the gulf from Florida. Don't remember what town. Too much sand for me.

Hahaha. My wife is pretty well trained. She was a major part of our 3-person crew when we raced our old sailboat throughout the southeast USA. Nowadays, she prefers the roll of passenger, with the occasional interruption to help me do something sailing-related.
